THURSDAY PDB – Neo-Nazis, racists, white supremacists and other extremists do exist in America. And a subset of this crazy fringe is prone to violence – and must be stopped.
But their threat is consistently overblown by both politicized federal law enforcement and the intelligence community.
This is done in part to exaggerate the ‘extremism’ threat within the U.S. military and to somehow smear patriotic mainstream conservatives under the same banner.
AND THE MEDIA AMPLIFIES THIS PROPAGANDA. The threat from extremist groups is growing. Service members and vets are getting sucked into the violence.
The U.S. intelligence community deemed racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism — such as white supremacists, Nazis, and other racist groups – the “most lethal threat” to Americans in its annual 2023 threat assessment released in March.
This follows similar overwrought reports by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in 2021 and 2022.
However, despite the feds manipulating statistics to make the threat appear far worse, one statistic is important to note.
According to a report by the Government Accountability Office, racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists were responsible for 94 deaths and 111 injuries over the PAST DECADE.
And even these numbers are up for debate as their definition of ‘racially motivated’ crimes likely includes common, non-extremist violence.
For context, that figure is less than the average number of murders in Chicago in just TWO MONTHS.
The ‘Windy City’ had 630 murders in 2022.
Should we worry? Yes. But more about Biden’s agenda behind these reports.

NATIONAL SECURITY
China, Russia propaganda withers as cameras multiply, US admiral says. The proliferation of cameras now in use around the world make it increasingly difficult for China and Russia to control the narrative in international disputes.
HOMELAND DEFENSE
Military air exercises planned for DC’s National Mall Thursday. Military pilots will conduct air training there to help crews “familiarize aircrew with restricted airspace procedures,” officials announced.
CHINA THREAT
In the dark depths of the Pacific, US submarines patrol with an eye fixed firmly on China. Hundreds of feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, cocooned within one of the Navy’s most technologically advanced pieces of equipment, Rear Adm. Jeff Jablon is clear-eyed about the two biggest challenges his team faces.
China to inspect ships in Taiwan Strait, Taiwan says won’t cooperate. China’s Fujian maritime safety administration launched a three-day special joint patrol and inspection operation in the central and northern parts of the Taiwan Strait that includes moves to board ships, it said.
Defying China, McCarthy stands united with Taiwan’s president. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s meeting in California with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen drew objections from Beijing, which views it as support for the island’s independence.
RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR
US reporter ‘wrongfully detained’ by Russia, Blinken says. The Secretary of State has “no doubt” that Russia has wrongfully detained an American reporter for The Wall Street Journal who was arrested last week on spying allegations.

Brink of nuclear war: North Korea warning on military drills. Pyongyang’s state media publishes warning as U.S. and South Korea continue joint military exercises.
IRAN THREAT
THERE HE GOES AGAIN – Milley’s remarks on Iran alarmed Israel. A statement Gen. Mark Milley, chair of the Joint Chiefs, made during a House hearing last week on Iran’s nuclear program alarmed Israeli defense and intelligence officials to the point they protested and asked Team Biden for clarifications.
SPACE THREAT
Space Force looks to build ties with more combatant commands—Like CYBERCOM and SOCOM. It is increasing its integration with the joint force by building relationships and standing up components within more and more U.S. combatant commands, top generals said.
Space Force plans ‘Digital Bloodhound’ to sniff out cyber-attacks. The program will develop tools such as the Manticore software suite that identifies cyber vulnerabilities, and the Kraken software that throws up real-time defenses against ongoing attacks.
INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
IN YOUR EYE, BEIJING! – Big Balikatan: Annual US-Philippines exercise to be bigger than ever. Nearly double the number of troops will take part in the annual exercise this month.
Macron in China wants ‘common path’ on peace in Ukraine. The French president said Thursday he wants to forge a “common path” with China on peace in Ukraine when he meets Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
Outrageous: Russia accused of spreading disinformation at UN event. Moscow used its rotating presidency of the Security Council to host a session on deported Ukrainian children, leading some officials to walk out.
How to advance US-Saudi defense cooperation. There’s room for progress short of a formal alliance.
Pakistan: Military kills 8 militants near Afghanistan border. Its security forces killed eight insurgents in an overnight operation at a militant hideout. The shootout left one Pak soldier dead and four wounded.
VERY TRUE – Over-classified information hampers work with allies, top Marines say. The military’s habit of labeling too much information as classified hinders cooperation with allies, Marine generals said.
US MILITARY

WHAT ABOUT THE HEADACHES, DIZZINESS AND NAUSEA? – Changes ahead in the next version of the Army’s ‘mixed reality’ goggle. The newest version of the goggle that seeks to provide all-encompassing situational awareness to the dismounted soldier will feature a slimmer design, more outdoor functions and possibly a wireless controller.
OOPS – Defense Department detains guest in hotel training mix-up. The FBI said participants in a Pentagon training exercise at a Boston hotel entered the wrong room and mistakenly detained a guest.

GOP-Led House Approves Iran War Powers Resolution In Rebuke To Trump
The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a war powers resolution aimed at ending unauthorized U.S. military involvement in Iran, marking the most significant congressional challenge yet to President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict.
The measure, sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) invokes the 1973 War Powers Resolution and would require the administration to obtain explicit authorization from Congress before continuing hostilities against Iran, except in cases involving an imminent threat to the United States. The vote followed months of growing bipartisan concern over a conflict that began in.
