ANALYSIS – President Biden just signed a massive $1.5 trillion spending bill with billions for his radical ‘Green New Deal’ climate change agenda while slashing border security funding by nearly half a billion dollars. These cuts are made even worse by Biden’s skyrocketing inflation.
This also comes as a flood of illegal migrants is expected to crash the border when Biden lifts the COVID deportation measures, and polls show Americans care far more about the border than ‘climate change.’
Carrie Sheffield, a senior policy analyst at Independent Women’s Voice, and also a colleague of mine and fellow ‘Robert K. Novak Journalism Fellow,’ notes in the New York Post that:
The nosedive [in border security funding] comes as illegal-immigrant apprehensions along the southwestern border skyrocketed in February to nearly 165,000, a 6.6% increase over January — and a 350% increase over February 2020, just after Biden took office and threw open America’s doors.
Sheffield explains that “This year’s crisis is likely to look even uglier. Authorities are bracing for a colossal crush of up to 170,000 people once the administration lifts the Title 42 public-health authority allowing (but not mandating) quick expulsion.”
President Trump instituted the Title 42 rules to protect Americans from illegal migrants with COVID at the beginning of the pandemic, and the courts have continued to uphold it.
Yet, even as he keeps other absurd pandemic policies in place for Americans, Biden insists on ending this one at the border for illegal migrants, to “provide relief to immigrants.” American citizens apparently don’t rate “relief.”
“CBP [Customs and Border Protection] simply doesn’t have the resources to deal with the coming crush, notes Sheffield, adding that a “desperate Department of Homeland Security deputy secretary, John Tien, sent an e-mail to employees Wednesday asking them ‘to consider stepping forward to support the DHS Volunteer Force.’ He’s seeking general support for CBP — including even help with data entry.”
That’s how bad things are at CBP.
Meanwhile, Sheffield adds, “The more than $20 billion in Green New Deal gimmicks in this bloated bill include an 8% increase for climate-change efforts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, with cash for hiring “resilience-focused staff,” whatever that means.”
Sheffield continues:
While border security is slashed, the Defense, Interior and Transportation departments, along with loan programs to state and local governments, all enjoy funding boosts to fight climate change. The Transportation hike will, one Democrat claimed, “mitigate the effects of climate change in our transportation system.”
However, as Sheffield explains, “That’s not where taxpayers want their hard-earned money to go,” adding:
Both Pew and Gallup have found that Americans care far more about border security than climate change. More than three-quarters of those asked — 77% — told Pew that illegal immigration was a very big or moderately big problem in America today; 65% said the same about climate change, and 12% thought it wasn’t a problem at all.
Sheffield sums it all up when she says: “They say a budget is a statement of your values. Biden’s first annual budget as boss certainly proves his priorities. Democrats care more about climate-change slush funds than protecting America’s borders — even as their policies are about to make the problem even worse.”

I hope that Joe Biden serves as a cautionary tale to Americans. This is what happens when a dishonest person is offered for political office by a dishonest political party and is installed as President of the United States. It makes no difference to these traitors what America thinks about their treason. They are going to do what they want to anyway, until Americans are fed up with them and rise up to destroy them. They are traitors. They do not believe in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights and deserve a traitors fate. Let’s make it so.
I agree with Phyllis. The problem is, most of us who are appalled at what the Dems have done to our country in one year, the destruction of our values
and restriction of our liberties, don’t know what to do. We feel powerless, plus we have little or no confidence in the integrity of our elections any more. That being said, we MUST go to the polls and vote out of office, those whose platform and actions do not reflect our beliefs.
It has gotten to the point where Joe Biden &Obama should be taken out by what ever it takes these crumbs are hell bent destroying our once God given country for the bile, dishonest destruction bent few all for money & power. Give what Democrats are trying to do and what they’ve all ready have done to destroy our country No border CRT to our children high furl prices food prices high and all getting higher, if we all don’t push back this is going to be a disaster.
Biden used his first year in office to wreak havoc on our country. Americans who voted for him should be ashamed of themselves and ensure that he is removed at the next election. By naming Kamala Harris as his Vice President, the Democratic Party guaranteed that Biden will finish his first term.
