Happy Birthday, Joe Biden – Now Please ‘Just Go Away’

ANALYSIS – Today, Joe Biden turns 81, and he has been in public office almost his entire adult life (with little to show for it, in my opinion).

And what little he has done, has usually been incredibly damaging to America; especially when it has come to foreign and defense policy.

But we still wish him a happy birthday. Even as Democrats wish he will ‘just go away.’ (RELATED: Popular Liberal Comedian Changes Stance, Considers Voting For Trump)

This, after over forty years in elected politics where Biden has gotten almost everything wrong.

In 2021, Robert Gates, the former defense secretary under Barack Obama, doubled down on his belief that Biden had been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.

Fox News reported at the time:

Gates, who spent about three decades in the CIA, was introspective during an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” and was asked by Anderson Cooper, the correspondent, about his 2014 memoir titled, “Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War.”  

Cooper pointed out a part in the book where Gates called Biden a man of integrity but wrote that he believes he’s “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

“I think he’s gotten a lot wrong,” Gates responded, before pointing out Biden’s opposition to “every one of Ronald Reagan’s military programs to contest the Soviet Union,” the first Gulf War, and even pointed to their differences regarding Afghanistan during the Obama administration

He said he believes Biden made a mistake in Afghanistan in the way he handled the withdrawal.

I would add that Biden, like Obama, has been an unmitigated disaster when dealing with Iran, essentially giving it carte blanche to promote terror and inch closer to producing nuclear weapons, all while funding the grotesque Islamist regime to the tune of tens of billions of dollars, if not more. In that way, he is partly, if not greatly, responsible for the Hamas attacks against Israel. Still, in 2020 Democrats voted for him en masse because he wasn’t Donald Trump.

But now, as he enters his ninth decade on our increasingly dangerous blue marble called Earth, most Americans, including many Democrats, just wish he would go away.

A lot of Americans, mostly Republicans, hate his leftist policies (though his relatively pro-Israel initial stance after the horrific October 7 terror attacks has also created a pro-Hamas leftist backlash to Biden).

Most voters, including Democrats, see his constant gaffes, mental lapses, stumbling and falling, and say he is just too old to hold the highest office in the land. (RELATED: After Brutal Poll, Top Obama Advisor Suggests Biden Drop Out Of Race)

But there’s more to it than just age. As Politico reported:

“The central concern is that Biden … has lost a step and is showing visible signs of aging. He has struggled to sell his economic accomplishments. And there are worries that his campaign, so far devoid of major events or organizing efforts, is not doing enough to deal with the public hand-wringing over his chances or the coming threat of Trump, 77.”

Meanwhile, there are other sources of Democratic anxiety, noted by Politico:

“Some argue that neither Biden nor his team have effectively communicated a reelection plan, a second-term governing vision or a clear argument against Trump.”

“Democrats have also expressed concern about the campaign’s thin operation in battleground states. Outside of pilot programs for organizing in Arizona and Wisconsin, the campaign has not built on the Democratic National Committee’s presence in key states or placed staff in any of the early primary states.”

And most telling, his poll numbers appear to be collapsing.

Politico added:

In the latest set of brutal polls for Biden, EPIC-MRA finds him losing to Trump by 5 points in Michigan. And an NBC survey clocks his national approval rating at a record low of 40% — including a 15-point plummet since September among young voters — and losing to Trump for the first time ever in their polling.

So, Happy Birthday Mr. President, and even if many Democrats just want you to go away, I say – please stick around – for a severe shellacking at the ballot box in 2024.
