While the Biden administration continues to refuse to secure the southern border of the United States, Texas Governor Greg Abbott is continuing to deal with the influx of migrants in his own way.
Over 105,000 migrants who have crossed into Texas have been transported to Democrat-run sanctuary cities across the nation, all in an effort to show voters and leaders in those cities how real the border crisis is by bringing it to their front door.
Abbott's office shared the following statistics about the success of Operation Lone Star – Texas' Border security enforcement initiative – in a media release issued Friday:
Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas National Guard continue to work together to secure the border; stop the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people into Texas; and prevent, detect, and interdict transnational criminal activity between ports of entry.
Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to over 504,900 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 40,600 criminal arrests, with more than 36,300 felony charges. In the fight against the fentanyl crisis, Texas law enforcement has seized over 469 million lethal doses of fentanyl during this border mission.
Texas has also transported:
Over 12,500 migrants to Washington, D.C. since April 2022
Over 39,600 migrants to New York City since August 2022
Over 32,500 migrants to Chicago since August 2022
Over 3,400 migrants to Philadelphia since November 2022
Over 16,900 migrants to Denver since May 18
Over 1,500 migrants to Los Angeles since June 14Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps created by the Biden Administration's refusal to secure the border. Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Joe Biden's open border policies.
The Governor of Texas is not the only Republican who is fed up with the Biden Administration's inaction on border security. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law last week harsher penalties for illegal immigrants who commit crimes within his state in an attempt to make crossing the border illegally less appealing.

Although the legislation was in the works earlier this year, the Governor signing it into law last week was quite timely as the Sunshine State braces itself for the significant possibility of droves of Haitian migrants fleeing their own nation's political and civil unrest, seeking asylum in the state.
