The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a war powers resolution aimed at ending unauthorized U.S. military involvement in Iran, marking the most significant congressional challenge yet to President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict.
The measure, sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) invokes the 1973 War Powers Resolution and would require the administration to obtain explicit authorization from Congress before continuing hostilities against Iran, except in cases involving an imminent threat to the United States. The vote followed months of growing bipartisan concern over a conflict that began in.

ANALYSIS – Major war could be coming soon. The next American president, hopefully former President Donald Trump, will likely be facing a nuclear armed Iran or one on the cusp of going nuclear.
Or even worse, an Israel forced to attack Iran’s potential nukes.
This, thanks to Joe Biden’s treasonous policies that are only aiding and abetting our sworn enemy. But the Islamic Republic of Iran is also using its ongoing proxy war by Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel to distract from its evil plans and pushing hard and fast on its nuclear weapons program.
Israeli officials are also concerned that Iranian leaders might try to use the post-election transition period (November through January) in the U.S. to make a “break” towards a nuclear weapon.
This while a senile Biden is napping after the election.
JNS reported: “There is no doubt that Iran is taking advantage of the Israeli, the American, and the entire international community’s focus on the war in Gaza and on the northern border to advance its nuclear program as much as possible,” Zisser added.
Asked whether a dual-front confrontation involving a simultaneous strike on Iran’s nuclear sites and Hezbollah’s strategic missile stockpiles could be an option for Israel, Zisser said Jerusalem might not have a choice.
Zisser noted:
“The government’s policy for now is to focus on Gaza and keep the northern border on a low flame,” he said. “This [the dual front conflict] requires the mobilization of society and the military, and international support—these things are not present now,” he added.
However, he said, “The option of a military move should be on the table—and in any case, it is likely that if Israel attacks Iran, Hezbollah will join as well.”
Asked if Israel was relying too much on the international community to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Zisser disagreed.
“I don’t think anyone relied on the international community to do anything,” he said. “There were expectations from the United States—but Trump left and Biden came, and it seemed clear from the beginning that Biden would not go all the way against Iran. The question is whether Trump would if he is elected,” he added.
But how will we know if Iran gets the bomb?
According to professor Eyal Zisser, vice rector of Tel Aviv University, Tehran’s goal, he said, is “reaching a threshold state without actually crossing the line and conducting a nuclear test.”
And right now, according to the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security, Iran currently possesses the capability to enrich uranium to weapons-grade level within a few weeks, in quantities enough for “several nuclear warheads.”
In the last couple of weeks U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies are looking into new information about computer modeling by Iranian scientists that could be used for nuclear weapons research and development.
Meanwhile, as Axios reported, Israel is taking the Iran nuke threat very seriously:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu two weeks ago re-established working groups made up of members of Israel’s defense establishment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the intelligence community to focus on Iran’s nuclear program…
Why it matters: Israel and the U.S. are concerned Iran will try to advance its nuclear technology, including weaponization efforts, in the weeks leading to the U.S. presidential elections, according to two Israeli and two U.S. officials.
Israeli and U.S. officials said U.S. leaders’ attention might be divided between the campaign and the continued crisis in Gaza, and the U.S. could struggle to respond quickly to any Iranian nuclear advances during this period.
With a senile, lame-duck Biden as president during the transition, or a vacuous and idiotic Kamala Harris in the hot seat, expect the worst. Either way, Trump will be left one dangerous mess.
