The latest information indicates that there are currently two groups of migrants, totaling about 3,000 people, traveling on foot through southern Mexico toward the U.S. border.
The migrants are from various countries and are seeking to reach the U.S. border, with some expressing concerns about potential changes in U.S. immigration policies, particularly if Donald Trump were to be reelected.
The groups left from the southern Mexican town of Ciudad Hidalgo on July 22, 2024, and are facing challenges such as intense heat and the possibility of being detained or sent back by Mexican authorities.
Gosh, if only we had a Border Czar…
It is difficult to predict with certainty whether this migrant caravan will be stopped. However, based on past experiences and current circumstances, there are several factors to consider.
In the past, Mexican authorities have attempted to stop or disperse migrant caravans by offering temporary legal status or detaining migrants. They may employ similar tactics this time as well.

Yeah, call me Crazy!!! But some jellied gasoline along the border when they arrive would stop them! Or maybe a giant catapult to send them back across! The best for the River is to get Sen Kennedy to send about a thousand alligators over to Texas and let them loose into the river!!!
I live in Mexico, this story is true. Suprisingly though, many Mexicans where I live want Trump. Trump and AMLO negotiated higher wages to Mexican works for US companies doing biz in Mexico. If the US companies die not agree, their products to be exported to the USA would have had higher taxes. So, it was a win / win.
Biden/Harris has not been good for Mexico at all. And people in the USA tend to forget, Mexico can not afford to hold at the border. There has to be financial help to Mexico to do this. Biden/Harris never re-negotiated with MX and now we have a new incoming Mexican President. Everything changes.
