Kamala Harris And Tim Walz Push Gun Control In First Joint Campaign Appearance

Kamala Harris announced Tim Walz as her running mate less than a week ago, and they’re already shaping up to be America’s worst nightmare.

In their first joint campaign appearance, they pushed for radical gun control measures that would drastically transform the United States.

It should surprise no one that Harris is using Walz’s midwestern credentials and military experience in an attempt to appeal to gun owners, and convince them that her goal isn’t to disarm them, but to simply pass “common sense” reform. In the first moments of her speech, she describes Walz as a gun owner that believes we need reasonable gun safety laws in America.

And on the surface, these proposals might sound reasonable. To a voter unfamiliar with the left’s tactics, universal background checks, red flag laws and an assault weapons ban might sound like reasonable reform. Reality tells a different story, as universal background checks can’t be implemented without a national gun registry, red flag laws give the government the power to disarm citizens that haven’t committed a crime without a trial or so much as a notice, and “assault weapons” is a fear mongering term with no real technical relevance, used to confuse people that don’t understand firearms or defense.

Voters — and gun owners especially — should note that Tim Walz was once a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment with a ringing endorsement from the NRA. When he ran for governor, though, he began distancing himself from his previous beliefs and eventually did an ideological 180°, becoming one of the most aggressive proponents of gun control in his state and nationwide.

As governor, Walz has either succeeded in passing or fought for every form of gun control Kamala has been advocating for years. He regularly touted his military experience in his gun control efforts. In 2019, he wrote “As someone who served 24 years in the military, I know that assault weapons don’t belong in the streets of our neighborhoods. As a lifelong sportsman, I know that these laws to reduce senseless violence do nothing to infringe on the rights of responsible gun owners.”

In a different campaign appearance, Harris declared the following:

“Upon being elected I will give the United States Congress 100 days to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws and if they fail to do it, then I will take Executive Action.”

As San Francisco’s District Attorney, she endorsed legislation to ban gun shows in her state and signed onto an amicus curiae brief in the landmark SCOTUS Heller case, arguing the Second Amendment doesn’t protect an individual’s right to keep or bear arms.

After becoming California’s Attorney General, Harris directed the state’s Department of Justice to form the largest gun confiscation teams the nation had ever seen, who went on to seize legally-owned firearms with zero due process. Once she was elected to the U.S. Senate, she enthusiastically co-sponsored multiple gun control bills.

While both candidates are able to blend in with the moderate wing of their party, make no mistake — they’re unapologetic progressives, and if they make it to the White House, America may never recover.
