After letting millions of dollars in weapons and equipment fall into the hands of Afghanistan’s Taliban, the Biden administration announced they are prepared to approve a plan that would funnel billions of dollars to Iran’s radical regime.
Experts report the funds will almost certainly be used to fund international terrorism and pursue nuclear weapons.
Lawmakers are blasting the nukes-and-car-bombs deal.
“A year ago, Joe Biden gave Afghanistan to the Taliban. Now he intends to give a nuclear arsenal to Iran,” said U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Cruz notes the deal will not only spread international terrorism and possible nuclear warfare but could lead to murders and assassinations in the U.S.
“The Iranian regime right now is trying to hunt down and murder former American officials and dissidents on American soil,” said Cruz.
“This deal will quickly flood the regime with hundreds of billions of dollars, and soon afterwards the deal will be worth trillions. It will dismantle sanctions on the Iranian economy, which is controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and provides the IRGC with the resources it needs to export its terrorism globally,” Cruz added.
“Iran’s attempts to assassinate American officials and dissidents on American soil should immediately disqualify them from any sanctions relief from the United States. Just last week, terrorists backed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked a base housing U.S. troops in Syria,” said U.S. House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Mike Rogers (R-Ala).
“Yet, the Biden administration is working overtime to broker a deal that will provide billions of dollars to the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Providing Iran with the money they need to advance towards a nuclear weapon, expand its terrorist network, and aid Vladimir Putin at the same time, is a mistake that will cost lives,” said Rogers.
Biden stands ready to approve the deal and assures Americans Iran will agree to the stated restrictions, even though Iran has violated every previous deal.
“Meanwhile, the Iranian regime violated the last nuclear deal, violated their most fundamental nuclear obligations beyond the deal, and violated international norms against nuclear proliferation. This deal will excuse Iran from that previous cheating, while enabling it to continue into the future,” said Cruz. “It repeats the inexplicable folly of the previous nuclear deal by legalizing the regime’s nuclear program, which had previously been prohibited by multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions,” said Cruz.
