Nordic nations ponder military changes with NATO in mind. With all Nordic countries now part of NATO, the nations must manage how to integrate national as well as regional security initiatives with alliance needs, which could require changes to existing command structures.
In Poland, jets return to the road – with Italian friends in tow. Italian Eurofighters, as well one of Poland's Turkish-made TB2 drones, joined Poland's fleet of Su-22s and MiG-29s on doing road landings during a recent exercise.
France asks for foreign police and military help with massive Paris Olympics security challenge. It has asked 46 countries if they would be willing to supply more than 2,000 police officers to help secure the Olympics this summer.
Iran alerted Russia to security threat before Moscow attack. It warned of a potential major “terrorist operation” on its soil ahead of the concert hall massacre near Moscow last month.
US MILITARY
National Guard wish list would restore fighters cut from 2025 budget. The National Guard's budgetary wish list would restore the dozen fighters and allow the service to buy all of the F-15EXs it originally planned.
