Biden’s Iran Appeasement Bringing Us Closer To War

Good morning.

Congress is mounting its strongest challenge yet to President Trump’s Iran War, federal prosecutors have unveiled a sanctions-evasion case tied to Iran’s nuclear program, and investigators in Washington, D.C., are digging deeper into allegations that police officials manipulated crime statistics.

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve a war powers resolution to limit unauthorized American military involvement in Iran.

Sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the measure would require the White House.

TUESDAY PDBThe epic fail of Biden’s doctrine vs. Iran – no consequences. Joe Biden needs to face reality: His policies of appeasing Iran while waging political warfare against Israel led the terrorist Mullahs in Tehran to conclude it could launch a massive attack on Israel and face no consequences.

Iran’s weekend attack against Israel was not symbolic or performative – it was an unprecedented and unacceptable act of war.

There’s no other way to characterize the launch of 120 ballistic missiles, alongside 30 cruise missiles and 170 suicide drones, against a country the size of New Jersey – especially when the attack was committed by the state sponsor of terrorism already waging a multifront proxy war against that democratic country.

As Biden again tries to hold Israel back from defending itself while maintaining both U.S. and UN sanctions relief for Iran, he risks confirming the ayatollah’s calculation – and guaranteeing a more dangerous future for America and our democratic allies.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Here’s a roundup of today’s other top defense stories from conservative national security expert PAUL CRESPO.

Not the President’s Daily Brief, but almost as good – PAUL’S DAILY BRIEFING – the PDB:

HOMELAND SECURITY

MARYLAND STATE AND BALTIMORE CITY FAILED – Federal criminal investigation opened into Key Bridge crash. The criminal investigation, being handled by the U.S. attorney’s office in Maryland, came as multiple private law firms announced that they will represent the Baltimore mayor’s office. The moves signal an escalating effort to seek accountability for the crash that left six men dead.

PENTAGON WOKE WATCH

NO TAXPAYER-FUNDED TRANS SURGERIES – Transgender veterans sue to force VA to cover gender-affirmation surgeries. A group of transgender veterans is renewing its legal fight with the Department of Veterans Affairs over the VA’s lack of coverage for gender-affirmation (AKA SEX CHANGE) surgeries.

POLITICS

LOL – HILARIOUS – A test of strength. Biden stands with America’s allies. Trump doesn’t.

White House opposes stand-alone Israel aid bill following Iranian attack. The White House instead is urging the House to pass a national security supplemental that included assistance for Ukraine, Israel and other allies.

Marines at Trump resort did not break rules on politicking in uniform. Marine Corps officials said a viral photo of four uniformed service members posing at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate did not take place during a political fundraiser, but instead at an approved nonprofit event without any connection to the Republican presidential nominee.

US POWER OVERSEAS

All the US assets that helped repel Iran’s attack on Israel. A host of American military ships, jets and munitions played a vital role in repelling Iran’s attack on Israel over the weekend — an unprecedented barrage that involved hundreds of missiles and attack drones.

SM-3 ballistic missile interceptor used for first time in combat, officials confirm. For the first time in combat, guided-missile destroyers fired missiles developed to intercept ballistic missiles during the U.S. response to the Iranian attack on Israel.

Blinken assures US support of Black Sea allies as Ukraine urges military aid during conference. The U.S. secretary of state assured allies they could depend on his country’s support to make the region more secure, prosperous, and integrated.

No longer restricted by INF Treaty, Army deploys Typhon weapon to the Philippines. “This is a significant step in our partnership with the Philippines, our oldest treaty ally in the region,” said the commanding general of the 1st MDTF. The mid-range missile system can launch Tomahawk attack cruise missiles and SM-6 multi-purpose missiles.

IRAN THREAT

MAYBE – US officials expect Israeli response to Iran strikes will be limited. The U.S. assessment is based on conversations between American and Israeli officials before Iran’s retaliatory attack Saturday night.

CHINA THREAT

Philippine president says he won’t give US access to more local military bases. He also stressed that the American military’s presence in several camps and sites so far was sparked by China’s aggressive actions in the disputed South China Sea.

Tech war: how Chinese scientists rigged a low-cost AI computer chip to power a hypersonic weapon. A research team in China has created a step-by-step guide that allows anyone with a low-cost artificial intelligence chip to boost the performance of hypersonic weapons.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

Ukraine’s strikes deep into Russia have a new tool: A small commercial plane. The A-22, a small, Ukrainian-designed, hobbyist-grade aircraft made by the firm Aeroprakt, could prove to be a deep strike option for Kyiv.

Ukraine’s big vulnerabilities: Ammunition, soldiers and air defense. The shortages add up to a dire situation for Ukraine in the third year of the war, presenting commanders with near impossible choices on how to deploy limited resources.

NORTH KOREA THREAT

North Korea will field hypersonic weapon someday, South’s defense chief warns. North Korea’s test of a hypersonic glide vehicle was unsuccessful this month, but the communist regime is making progress in its development.

BIDEN AFGHAN DISASTER

MAYBE NOT ON A TACTICAL OR OPERATIONAL LEVEL, BUT AT A STRATEGIC AND POLICY LEVEL, IT SURE AS HELL WAS – New review by U.S. Central Command says Abbey Gate bombing wasn’t preventable. The suicide bombing at the Kabul airport that killed U.S. troops and Afghans in August 2021 was not preventable, and the “bald man in black” spotted by U.S. service members the morning of the attack was not the bomber.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

World donors pledge $2.1 billion in aid for war-stricken Sudan to ward off famine. This, after a yearlong war that has pushed its population to the brink of famine, French President Emmanuel Macron said Monday.

US MILITARY

Special Forces engineers are training to dig ditches and destroy tanks. The traditional approach to tank ditches isn’t going to work in today’s wars.

F-35s to cost $2 trillion as Pentagon plans longer use, says watchdog. The Joint Strike Fighter’s total cost over its entire life span is due to the fact that the U.S. military plans to fly it longer, inflation is rising, and the Pentagon’s efforts to rein in expenses are largely unsuccessful.

I KNOW I DO. WHAT ABOUT YOU? Would you have what it takes to fast-rope out of a helicopter? Watch now.

New recruiting programs put Army, Air Force on track to meet enlistment goals. Navy will fall short. After several difficult years, the Army and Air Force say they are on track to meet their recruiting goals this year, reversing previous shortfalls using a swath of new programs and policy changes. But the Navy, while improving, is still not there.

Inside the Navy’s Marine Mammal Program. In 1959, the Navy opened its Marine Mammal program here. With one dolphin, researchers set out to study how fast the creatures could swim, in an effort to improve ship and torpedo performance.
