Former Democrat Running In GOP Primary Went On Violent Racist Tirade In Recorded Phone Call

A one-time Democrat member of Alabama's legislature, now running for the Republican nomination for U.S. Congress, once threatened to kill a female customer service representative and referred to another with a racist slur in a recorded phone call.

Boman's abusive language was captured in a phone call recorded by Samsung during a dispute over a repair visit to Boman's home in December 2017. On the call, Boman identified himself as an attorney and said he intended to sue Samsung for the work time he said he lost while waiting on a tech to repair his washing machine after a product recall.

Boman first spoke with an African American, then was transferred to a female customer service representative.

Boman called the woman a “f…… b…..” and said she “was about as much help as that f…… n….. that I spoke with.”

“I will shoot you in the f…… head,” Boman told the female customer service rep.

Boman was elected to Alabama's state House of Representatives in 2010, but switched to the Democrat Party just four months into his term.  He was defeated for a second four-year state house term in 2014.

The recording surfaced when Boman sued Samsung in small claims court in 2017.  The Alabama State Bar initially suspended his law license for two years in 2019, then switched it to probation after serving 90 days of the suspension.

But Boman's problems didn't end there. The probation was revoked in 2020 and Boman was arrested on charges of stealing $140,000 from the estate of a client.  

Boman has pleaded not guilty and is still awaiting trial on the charges while running for Congress.

Boman was the Democrat nominee for U.S. Congress in 2012, in a race in which he denounced for implying that Republican Congressman Bob Aderholt was gay.  He lost that race by a three-to-one margin.
