A interview on Tuesday between host and Sen. (R-Ark.) became heated as Cotton criticized Collins for misrepresenting a Senate vote on a bill related to in vitro fertilization ().

During the opening of her show, Collins stated that Senate Republicans had blocked a bill that would “guarantee access to IVF nationwide,” a move that she said Democrats were using to criticize Republicans.

Cotton pushed back immediately, saying, “I have to correct almost everything you said in the lead-in there, almost none of which was accurate about.

WEDNESDAY – Republican Patrick McHenry puts China before US military lives. This summer, the Senate passed an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would require companies in the U.S. that intend to invest in the high-tech sectors of adversarial nations to provide the Treasury Department with prior notification.

But McHenry outrageously said the legislation would “strengthen rather than weaken the objectives of Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party” and that U.S. investment in China provides for beneficial U.S. influence on Beijing.

McHenry's claims have as much relationship to reality as the claim that Chinese DF-27 hypersonic missiles are good for the health of Nimitz-class aircraft carriers.

American investments in China's high-tech sector inevitably support the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and will eventually help kill Americans. This is not a hypothetical concern. The Chinese Communist Party retains tightly enforced control over any corporation operating on its soil.

McHenry won't run for reelection in 2024. He is likely looking for a more lucrative career from his friends in the pro-China big investment houses such as BlackRock. TREASONOUS SELL OUT.

House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) must overrule McHenry and ensure the amendment carries into the final NDAA.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Here's a roundup of today's other top defense stories from conservative national security expert PAUL CRESPO.

Not the President's Daily Brief, but almost as good – PAUL'S DAILY BRIEFING – the PDB:

ISRAEL'S WAR AGAINST HAMAS TERROR

BARBARIC HAMAS – Their bodies tell their stories. These Israeli women and girls not alive to speak for themselves. Hard evidence suggests dozens of Israeli women were raped, sexually abused, or mutilated during the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks.

SAD PRICE OF WAR THAT HAMAS STARTED AND CONTINUES TO FIGHT – Heavy fighting in Gaza halts most aid delivery and leaves civilians with few places to seek safety. Israeli forces battled Hamas militants across Gaza on Wednesday after expanding their ground offensive to its second-largest city.

PENTAGON WOKE WATCH

Tuberville drops holds on more than 430 military promotions. The move is a significant breakthrough in the 10-month standoff between the GOP lawmaker and Pentagon leaders over DoD's new woke abortion policies.

BIDEN'S ABORTION POLICIES ARE THE PROBLEM AND ‘POLITICALLY MOTIVATED' – CONTINUE THE FIGHT, TOMMY – Biden rips Tuberville after military holds lifted: ‘I hope no one forgets what he did.' Joe Biden ripped Sen. Tommy Tuberville after the Alabama Republican ended a nearly 10-month hold on military nominations, arguing the senator's actions were “politically motivated” and “pointless.”

HIS MESSAGE WAS VALID – BUT HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER SERVED BLOCKING BIDEN CIVILIAN NOMINEES – Tuberville's hard beltway education. The Senator gives up his military promotion blockade in an abortion fight he was always going to lose.

POLITICS

A smaller stage, and higher stakes, for the fourth Republican debate. International affairs are likely to take up significant time. Republicans are in lockstep on support for Israel, but Ukraine funding is more divisive.

NATIONAL SECURITY

MIXED GOOD AND BAD – From Trump to Congress, Republican defense orthodoxy crumbles. President Trump's America First shadow threatens to overtake the GOP's Reaganite defense orthodoxy with more scrutiny on military budgets and allies.

US says Russia rejected a deal to free Evan Gershkovich, Paul Whelan. The U.S. on Tuesday said Russia rejected a “significant proposal” that would have freed two detained Americans, a Wall Street Journal reporter, and a former Marine.

CHINA THREAT

China says its fighters shadowed US Navy patrol plane over Taiwan Strait. It sent the jets to monitor and warn a U.S. Navy patrol aircraft that flew over the Taiwan Strait, a mission that took place weeks before Taiwan to hold elections.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

Ukraine aid in peril as Senate Republicans walk out of heated briefing. A procedural vote on Ukraine aid is expected to fail after Republicans walked out of a briefing amid a related illegal migration policy conflict.

YES, BUT MAKE EUROPE PAY MUCH MORE – Why US aid for Ukraine is a bargain. There are various paths to the conclusion that U.S. taxpayers are getting a bargain by backing Ukraine's war for survival. One is to ask: Yes, it's expensive, but compared with what?

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 651. Russia targeted an aid center, a medical center, and residential buildings in Ukraine's southern and eastern regions, killing three people and injuring at least 11, officials said.

Russian Navy receives three submarines. The Russian Navy has received two nuclear-powered submarines and a diesel-electric boat.

SPACE THREAT

Pentagon's DARPA picks 14 vendors for lunar economy-building study. Technologies being explored include “lunar power; mining and commercial in-situ resource utilization; communications, navigation, and timing; transit, mobility, and logistics; and construction and robotic.”

US POWER OVERSEAS

With NATO membership looming, Sweden and US sign new defense cooperation deal. The new bilateral Defense Cooperation Agreement signed on Dec. 5 strengthens military ties between the two nations and will allow bilateral exercises and new joint procurements and further paves the way for Sweden's integration into NATO.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

Use more drones, US tells allies, partners. Especially at sea, and especially in the Indo-Pacific region.

US MILITARY

RIP – SOME OF OUR BEST – Navy to begin search and salvage effort for downed Army Black Hawk. The MH-60 helicopter crashed in the Mediterranean Sea on Nov. 10, killing all five special operations soldiers on board.

RIP, WARRIORS – Air Force releases names of 7 airmen killed in Osprey crash off Japan. It has recovered three bodies and is recovering another three troops while searching for two more.

Army drones have ‘good chance' of being picked for Replicator, acquisition chief says. “The idea of the whole DOD, you know, needing to push the envelope and go faster on unmanned capability, I think is a good thing. Replicator is part of that. So yeah, the Army nominated several systems.”

SECNAV Del Toro aims to reinvigorate US shipping to strengthen fleet. The U.S. commercial maritime industry has long been shrinking. LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE!

Navy eyes quantum tech to simulate warfighting probabilities. “I think it's going to be exciting to see what happens here,” one of the Navy's top quantum leaders said.
