The Biden administration continues to insist that the “two-state solution” is the only path to peace for Israel and the Palestinians.
On December 29, 2022, for example, President Biden stated that “as we have throughout my Administration, the United States will continue to support the two-state solution and to oppose policies that endanger its viability or contradict our mutual interests and values.”
Palestinian polling results show that without new Palestinian leadership and a very different Palestinian mindset, this policy will never achieve peace.
On June 15, 2023, the Jerusalem Post reported that a poll by the Ramallah-based Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research found that 70 percent of Palestinians oppose a two-state solution – and that 52 percent instead believe that the armed struggle against Israel is the most effective means to achieve a Palestinian state.
The poll shows, moreover, that Palestinians further believe that the armed struggle will do far more than produce a Palestinian state: 66 percent believe that the State of Israel, founded in 1948, will no longer exist by 2048.
With this mindset, the Palestinians will never agree to a Palestinian state living in peace side-by-side with the State of Israel.
As they overwhelmingly oppose a two-state solution and believe that the armed struggle will eliminate Israel within 25 years, why should they negotiate a two-state solution?
This mindset explains why the Palestinian Authority – that proclaims that it seeks a Palestinian state in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip that will live in peace with the State of Israel as its neighbor – rejected Israel’s offers in 2000, 2001, and 2008 of a Palestinian state in Jerusalem, virtually all of the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
This delusional Palestinian mindset should not be a surprise – to the Biden administration or to anyone else – because it reflects the message that the Palestinian Authority sends Palestinians.
The Palestinian Authority lavishly pays the families of Palestinian terrorists who have killed and maimed Israelis and now sit in Israeli prisons or who have been killed by the Israeli security forces. These payments encourage Palestinians to commit more murderous terrorism.
Palestinian Authority school textbooks often erase Israel from maps and show the entire land area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea as Palestine. This indoctrinates Palestinians with the mindset that Israel should not and will not exist.
The Palestinian Authority severely punishes Palestinians who sell land to Israeli Jews with hard labor, imprisonment, and even death. This poisons Palestinians against living peacefully with Israeli neighbors.
Sadly, the Biden administration is similarly delusional. Like the Palestinians who refuse to recognize that their continued armed struggle will neither eliminate Israel nor achieve a Palestinian state, the Biden administration refuses to accept that until there is new Palestinian leadership and a very different Palestinian mindset, the pursuit of a two-state solution will never achieve peace.

The Palestinians WILL go along with a “two state solution.” That is, they wuill happily accept half of what they they want. Then, once they get it, they will go after the other half of what they want: the destruction of Israel. This is how they do things. I know from first-hand experience.
Anything and everything that Biden and his administration does (just like their mentors, Obama & Co.), will have a big, fat “Failure” stamped all over it.
Destroying everything they touch is all they know.
