It is energy, stupid.
While the progressive press acted like the world was ending with the 15 rounds of voting to elect Kevin McCarthy, it was not a do-or-die moment. Now comes the time for Speaker McCarthy to be a hero or a zero.
The inside-the-beltway Republican activists and commentators are all clamoring for investigations of the Biden administration, Dr. Anthony Fauci and other Democrats. Like them, I want my pound of Democrat flesh, but that's not why the GOP won the slim majority.
Republican congressional members were able to overcome the fallout from Roe v. Wade's repeal due to Biden's disastrous economy which all started with his failed energy policy. So, one of the must-do agenda items for Speaker McCarthy has to be affordable energy. Homeowners, drivers, business owners and everyone who doesn't drive a Telsa needs to know that the GOP feels their pain.
It is not a priority for hard-working Americans to get even with Democrats by holding congressional hearings on their many devious actions. If the Republican message is that Hunter Biden and Fauci need to be held accountable, then we as a party are not giving voters a reason that helps them to support the entire GOP ticket in 2024.
Kicking Biden and Dr. Jill out of the White House is not enough. We need to increase the majority in the House and win the Senate back. And it is all up to Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
Senator Mitch McConnell has proven time and time again that his only goal is keeping his leadership position. Just look at the 2022 elections. McConnell's PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund, was the largest outside funder in the Lisa Murkowski race. That race was Republican on Republican so the only person to who the results mattered to was McConnell. No matter what the GOP was not losing a vote.
McConnell could have spent those funds to knock off New Hampshire's Maggie Hassan, but the GOP candidate, Don Bolduc, was not a McConnell fan, so no money for him. Hence, it cannot be overstated enough that winning the majorities in 2024 is all on the shoulders of Speaker McCarthy.
You are probably thinking it is early to be worried about 2024. Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis has not even declared his candidacy for the White House. While it may be early for candidates, it is not premature for messaging to win over voters. As I have previously written, the media is against us, so it is much harder for the GOP to get their message to voters. We need to make every day count!
McCarthy needs to show voters that his priorities are their priorities. No matter the kitchen table, people are talking about the price of energy. So, it is energy, stupid.
Going after Biden on energy has endless media opportunities. Can you see the speaker pumping gas or delivering oil to a home? How about a presser with the Keystone Pipeline workers who lost their jobs? How about a video of foreign oil tankers coming to our ports?
It is unlikely that a plan to make our nation energy independent will pass the Senate with the Democrats controlling the majority, but it will put Biden and congressional Democrats on defense. Forcing Democrat officials to answer why they blocked relief helps us win elections in 2024 because, most of the time, people vote with their wallets.
Let's win everything in 2024 by setting the right agenda today.

Maybe so, but we still need to go after the hypocrites! They must be shown they cannot govern as they want. There IS! a Constitution that sets the procedure for equitable fair and honest way to govern. They discount the Constitution, but we won’t!!
The secret to Republican success is fiscal responsibility and conservative social policy. So far, the RINOs have prevented the Party from showing that it is the party of fiscal responsibility. The Washington establishment and Democrats won the lame duck session, aided by RINOs.
Call it what you want,IT’S MAGA TIME. The time is now! We either take our country back or lose it forever to the communist. The clock is ticking.
Energy production is where it’s at.
We either need to re-edumicate the loony left-wing green-weenie liberal climate doom alarmist losers, or grind them up into Soylent Green. Their choice.
