DC Circuit Court Rules Trump Not Immune From Prosecution

-

The Washington, D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that former President is not immune from prosecution, rejecting Trump's claims of absolute for his alleged crimes.

The ruling blocks Trump's attempt to dismiss his federal case by arguing that he is immune from prosecution or arrest for actions taken while he was president.

“For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant,” the panel wrote in its 57-page decision.

“But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution.”
