Apocalypse Now? Riderless, Bloodied Horses Gallop Through Streets Of London

-

ANALYSIS – But that's not all. Big Ben stopped, too. On Wednesday morning, two with saddles but no riders, one black and one white covered in blood, galloped wildly through the streets of central London.

During their five-mile-long stampede the two horses almost trample pedestrians and cyclists, with the black one crashing into the front of a bus another into a taxi.

The two equines noted above, were part of a total of five riderless horse running amok in the city center. Four threw their riders, the fifth horse just joined the stampede.

Then, suddenly at exactly 9 a.m., the iconic clock, Elizabeth Tower – widely known as Big Ben simply stopped and failed to signal its hourly gong. So, we can say that at that moment time stopped, even if only briefly.

The previously loose horses are from the King's Household Cavalry, the ceremonial guard of the monarch and a feature of state functions in London. Two of them, including the white one covered in blood, received serious injuries.

The horses had been training for an upcoming military parade and were spooked by the crashing sound of construction materials dropping suddenly onto the street near them at a work site in Belgravia, a swanky neighborhood just to the west of the palace.

Experiencing this spectacle, one wouldn't be too crazy to think that you were in a scene from the Book of Revelation and just waiting for the ground to crack open beneath you as the sky fills with wailing souls.

Well, the second part hasn't happened – yet.

But some people believe these might be signs of the coming apocalypse.

Recall, that in the Bible's final chapter on Revelation, “Conquest, War, Famine, and Death” are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

In a popular post on X, Erica Buist wrote: “Big Ben has stopped and there are blood covered horses running through the streets of London. Maybe someone should check on the ravens in the Tower because this feels a LOT like a season finale.”

Gyll King added: “Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't some herald of the Apocalypse, so dystopic this nation has become. This is 100% something a One-Eyed Witch would warn as a sign of some disaster about to happen,' wrote Doc Strangelove.

Dazed Digital made the connection to Biblical Revelation:

For the record, most videos contain two horses, one white and one black, so that's the first and third Horsemen's steeds – Conquest and Famine – respectively. The lingering presence of War, which is represented by a red horse, is already self-evident, so now we just need a pale horse ridden by Death for the full set.

While these horses were riderless, the next ones will be mounted with their horsemen. Then watch out.

The horses were eventually corralled and taken to safety, though the two injured ones may not make it. And Big Ben was quickly repaired. Still, maybe we should start paying more attention to those Christian ‘end times' preachers a little more.

It can't hurt to be aware of what may really be happening in our increasingly mad world.
