PAUL'S DAILY BRIEF () WEEKEND – Oops! Army training mislabeled nonprofits as terror groups for years.

At Fort Liberty, thousands of soldiers who were trained on the Army's antiterrorism policy saw slides that labeled several legitimate nonprofits as terrorist organizations – a blunder that went on for seven years before photos of the slides were posted to social media this summer.

A “BLUNDER” THAT WENT ON FOR YEARS.

“How in the world does something like that go on for so long and [no one] in leadership catches it?” said Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., who chairs the House Armed Services Committee subpanel on military personnel.

Army tells lawmakers it will review all training materials amid outcry over botched Fort Liberty briefing. The partisan Democrat material is terrorism briefings at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, falsely listed mainstream activist groups, including peaceful pro-life advocates, as terror organizations.

The slides had been used in training since 2017 and had not been reviewed or approved at any level, Schaefer said. About 9,100 soldiers saw the slides over the past seven years.

“The training materials were very poorly developed, and we fully acknowledge that failure,” Lt. Gen. Patrick Matlock, the Army deputy chief of staff, said. “That length of time is almost unexplainable.”

NATIONAL SECURITY

THINGS ARE GETTING REAL – Air Force braces for new nuclear-war scenarios. With more nuclear players and weapons around the world, U.S. forces need to be ready.

The US military's true advantage against any adversary. While the officer corps of nearly every nation's military looks similar to our own — elite, disciplined and well-educated, their enlisted forces, U.S. military leaders say, are a different story. That's because we train and empowers mid- and lower-ranking forces, and particularly its noncommissioned officers, very differently from other countries.

ISRAEL WAR AGAINST TERROR

I WOULD SAY ‘DEVASTATING' BLOW – The exploding device attacks dealt a major but not crippling blow to Hezbollah, analysts say.

Device detonations reveal ‘incredible' intelligence abilities: ex-NSA chief. The detonation of several thousand Hezbollah devices displayed a stunning capability for intelligence-gathering, likely Israel's — and underscored potential vulnerabilities in global supply chains.

Israel warned the US on the day of its ‘pager attack' against Hezbollah that an operation in Lebanon was coming but gave no details, officials say.
