Newly released data from and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shows a startling increase in the number of illegal immigrants with serious criminal records residing in the U.S. As of July 2024, ICE reported that 662,566 noncitizens with criminal backgrounds are on its national docket, with 435,719 convicted criminals among them.

The ICE data, shared by Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas), provides a detailed breakdown of the criminal records of noncitizens. Convictions among illegal immigrants who are not detained due to sanctuary.

TUESDAY – Joe Biden’s weak policies and enabling and appeasement of Iran is bringing the U.S. closer to war with Iran. And we aren’t ready for it. Joint Chiefs chair warns Iran would come to Hezbollah’s aid. Gen. CQ Brown warned Sunday that an Israeli invasion of Lebanon against Hezbollah could spark opposition from Iran, potentially putting U.S. troops in the region at risk.

Escalating Israel-Hezbollah clashes threaten to spark regional war and force US into conflict with Iran. The battles between Israel and Lebanon’s terror group have seen mass civilian evacuations and widespread death, injury and destruction.

What is Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed group that could go to all-out war against Israel? After more than eight months of low-scale conflict, Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah are threatening all-out war.

THANKS TO WEAK BIDEN RESPONSE – Suspected Yemen Houthi attack targets vessel in waters further away than almost all previous assaults launched in the Gulf of Aden. This, potentially part of a widening escalation by the group.

Pentagon confident it can still defend against Houthi attacks in Red Sea without a carrier in the region. This, after a carrier strike group departed the region and it was unclear when another carrier group might arrive.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Here’s a roundup of today’s other top defense stories from conservative national security expert PAUL CRESPO.

Not the President’s Daily Brief, but almost as good – PAUL’S DAILY BRIEFING – the PDB:

NATIONAL SECURITY

Trump handed plan to halt US military aid to Kyiv unless it talks peace with Moscow. Two key advisers gave Trump a plan to end Russia’s war in Ukraine – if he wins in November. It means telling Ukraine it will only get more U.S. weapons if it enters into peace talks.

HOMELAND SECURITY

Inside the trial of a former chief convicted of attempted espionage. The ex-Navy chief who shared classified information with a foreign agent had a “financial need for the money.”

FIX THIS! – Pentagon background-check systems at risk of hacking, GAO says. The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency didn’t fully implement DOD’s cybersecurity process.

Julian Assange leaves UK jail on his way to enter plea deal with the US. The WikiLeaks founder is on his way to a remote U.S. Pacific island on Tuesday where he will plead guilty to a conspiracy charge as part of a plea deal with the Justice Department. Starting in late 2009, Assange conspired with Chelsea Manning, a transgender military intelligence analyst, to use his WikiLeaks website to disclose tens of thousands of highly classified national security documents.

PENTAGON WOKE WATCH

“DIVERSITY” DOES NOT EQUAL STRENGTH – IT OFTEN EQUALS DIVIDED LOYALTIES – For this US airman, the Gaza war hit too close to home. Mohammed Abu Hashem ended a 22-year military career after his aunt was killed in an Israeli strike. “I can’t be part of the system that enabled this,” he says. “HOME” SHOULD BE US.

HELL NO – Two Air Force enlistees discuss seeking conscientious objector status over US support of Israel in Gaza.

Thousands of LGBTQ+ veterans sue Pentagon claiming discrimination and wrongful discharge. More than 35,000 LGBTQ+ veterans claim they were wrongfully discharged because of their sexual orientation and often disqualified for veterans benefits.

POLITICS

THAT’S ONE WAY TO DO IT – Republicans will again try to slash defense secretary’s salary from $221,000 to $1. This over a host of conservative complaints against woke military policies.

ISRAEL WAR AGAINST TERROR

Netanyahu says he won’t agree to a deal that ends the war in Gaza, testing the latest truce proposal. The viability of a U.S.-backed proposal to wind down the 8-month-long war in Gaza has been cast into doubt after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would only be willing to agree to a “partial” cease-fire deal that would not end the war.

Israel’s ultra-Orthodox men must serve in the military, top court rules in blow to Netanyahu. The Israeli Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling Tuesday could lead to the collapse of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s increasingly fragile governing coalition.

US POWER OVERSEAS

FAILED BIDEN BOONDOGGLE AND U.N. INGRATES – A WHO official says the reconnected US-built pier in Gaza cannot supply Palestinians with anywhere near the level of aid they need.

US to vacate first air base within weeks as it withdraws from Niger. The U.S. will have fully cleared out of one air base in Niger as it continues to move personnel and equipment from the African country ahead of a September deadline to complete its withdrawal.

BIDEN FAILURE – US military reassesses West Africa strategy as troops exit Niger. The forced U.S. troop withdrawals from bases in Niger and Chad mean the potential shift of some troops to other nations in West Africa. But where?

After forced US exit from Niger, list of possible US allies includes Libya, general says.

Thousands of US and Filipino Marines wrap weeks of Philippine exercises.

Marines revive historic ‘Sledge’ airfield on Peleliu in Pacific pivot. In 1944, the tiny island saw some of the fiercest fighting of World War II. Saturday, Marines began flying again from Peleliu, this time with an eye towards its value in the modern Pacific theater.

CHINA THREAT

CHINA THREAT GROWING DAILY – Japan alleges 5 days of Chinese coast guard intrusions around Senkaku Islands. Four Chinese coast guard vessels since Thursday have repeatedly entered the 12-mile territorial limit around the Senkaku chain, a potential flashpoint approximately halfway between Okinawa and mainland China.

China’s Chang’e-6 moon probe lands back on Earth. It landed on Tuesday in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia, making the country the first to bring back samples from the moon’s far side.

Hawaii Army units help prepare Philippines in ongoing dispute with China. The units are continuing to play a central role in U.S.-Philippine relations as tensions mount between China and the Philippines.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

US expected to bolster Ukraine’s defense with $150M in munitions. This, as Russia accuses Ukraine of using U.S.-provided munitions to strike inside Russia or Russian-held territory.

Russia summons the American ambassador over a deadly attack that Moscow says used US-made missiles. This, after a Ukrainian attack on Russian-annexed Crimea that reportedly killed four people and wounded more than 150.

How Ukraine’s naval drones turned the tide in the battle of the Black Sea. Unmanned vessels developed in the fight against Russia are part of a revolution in modern warfare

NORTH KOREA THREAT

South Korean military says 350 waste balloons detected from North Korea overnight as tensions flare. The North Korean balloons “presumed” to be carrying waste is reigniting a tit-for-tat exchange as tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

UK’s Nigel Farage sparks outrage from opponents after saying West ‘provoked’ Ukraine war. Farage is the usually correct, outspoken figurehead of the UK’s populist right.

Across the Indo-Pacific, militaries scramble to put more submarines in the water. Several US allies in the region have launched new subs this year, and others are making plans to buy them, reflecting a long-standing focus on undersea warfare that is only intensifying.

NATO wants to boost its undersea defenses. Officials fear Russia could cut the undersea cable network that undergirds much of the global economy.

WHY? Leader of NATO member Poland visits China talks to Xi about Ukraine, peace and trade. Polish President Andrzej Duda met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping Monday for talks. A visit to Beijing that brought the head of state of a NATO member to a country that has backed Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.
