Billionaire Says Ivy League Presidents Should ‘Resign In Disgrace’ Over Antisemitism

-

ANALYSIS – Case in point: Harvard University President Claudine Gay refused to give a yes or no answer to whether she could look a Jewish student's family in the eye and tell them that their child “would feel safe and welcome” on campus.

This, as Gay testified before the U.S. House Committee on and the Workforce on Tuesday.

Her remarks came after Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) pressed a trio of presidents on whether students had the right to free speech “even when calling for the mass murders of African Americans,” as a hypothetical comparison to protesters on campuses calling for “global intifada” against Jews.

Gay began to respond to the question by Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.) about facing the parents of Jewish students and promising they would feel safe, saying – “We are absolutely committed to student safety…” before Kiley interrupted.

Kiley stated, according to Mediate:

Yes, but I didn't ask that question about your commitment. I said, could you look them in the eye right now, the family of a prospective Jewish student, and assure them that their son or daughter would feel safe and welcome on your campus?

“We are taking every step to ensure their physical and psychological safety,” answered Gay.

Kiley pressed, “So yes or no to my question, though? Did you want to answer it?”

Following a brief pause by Gay, Kiley concluded, “I guess not.”

Her inability, or unwillingness, to answer that simple question is just the latest example of how our elite universities have turned into cesspools of neo-Marxist, pro-terrorist and anti-Jewish hate. All under the guise of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

This is also why billionaire hedge fund manager is calling for the presidents of three Ivy League universities to “resign in disgrace” following their comments during a congressional hearing.

As the New York Post reported:

The Harvard alumnus was angered by his alma mater's leader Claudine Gay, along with the University of Pennsylvania's Liz Magill and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) president Sally Kornbluth, for their failure to call out antisemitic protests that have taken place on their campuses.

“In short, they said: It ‘depends on the context' and ‘whether the speech turns into conduct,' that is, actually killing Jews,” Ackman said in a post on X. “This could be the most extraordinary testimony ever elicited in the , certainly on the topic of genocide.”

The Post continued:

The billionaire's anger toward the three school leaders was heightened by their behaviors as they sat in front of the elected officials.

“Throughout the hearing, the three behaved like hostile witnesses, exhibiting a profound disdain for the Congress with their smiles and smirks, and their outright refusal to answer basic questions with a yes or no answer.

Ackman added:“The presidents' answers reflect the profound educational, moral and ethical failures that pervade certain of our elite educational institutions due in large part to their failed leadership.”

“They must all resign in disgrace,” Ackman said before adding that if they were executives at one of his companies, they'd be gone within the hour.
