FBI Won’t Turn Over Report Accusing Biden Of Accepting Foreign Bribes

-

ANALYSIS – While the press has been all over the Donald Trump civil lawsuit verdict, it has been far less eager to cover the news of a looming criminal indictment. And even less eager to report on 's involvement in his son's crimes and misdeeds.

These crimes could include money laundering, influence peddling, fraud and bribery.

Most of the misdeeds are related to Hunter's massive efforts to leverage his father's position as vice president to rake in millions in fees and income from shady overseas sources.

Those sources include , Russia and, most worrisome, communist .

When the does report on these topics, it generally notes that there have been no incriminating links found between father and son.

But that's only because they refuse to look.

The GOP-led House is aggressively investigating the Biden family after years of cover-up by Democrats. Republicans call the alleged criminal activity a ‘family affair.'

Still, it's not easy going when the government agencies that Congress has oversight on have been steadily infiltrated by partisans.

This politicization is especially true of the (DOJ) and the .

Now, the New York Post reported, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is refusing to comply with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena that required the Bureau to turn over an unclassified ‘whistleblower' report alleging that Joe Biden accepted bribes from a foreign national while he was vice president.

The report, though unclassified, came from an FBI informant or Confidential Human Source (CHS). And this is a reason the Bureau has refused to turn it over.

The Committee subpoena for an FBI file – an FD-1023 – was issued last week. The FD-1023 form is used by FBI agents to record unverified reporting by a confidential human source.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and Budget Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley, R-, wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director that the subpoenaed report “describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”

This is serious stuff.

The report was to be provided to the Committee by Wednesday, but the FBI did not comply with the subpoena. Instead, the Bureau replied with a letter raising objections and concerns regarding the Committee's request.

In the letter, FBI Acting Assistant Director Christopher Dunham claimed the unclassified informant report needs to be kept private to protect sources.

“Information from confidential human sources is unverified and, by definition, incomplete,” he wrote.

“As is clear from the name itself, confidentiality is definitional to the FBI's Confidential Human Source program,” Dunham added.

He continued: “Confidential human sources often provide information to the FBI at great risk to themselves and their loved ones. The information they provide also can create significant risks to others who may be referenced in their reporting.”

These are all reasonable objections from a law enforcement perspective, but considering the severity of the alleged underlying crimes involving the sitting president, it makes one wonder if the stated concerns are the only factors.

It's also part of a much bigger story.

The Blaze reports:

The FBI failed to turn over the document just hours before Comer held a press conference where he revealed evidence uncovered by the committee that the Biden family and their business associates were involved in “influence peddling schemes.”

The committee accused several Biden family members of collecting at least $10 million from foreign nationals and attempting to cover up the source of the funds by funneling the money in small, incremental payments through 20 companies owned by Biden and created after he assumed the vice presidency in 2009.

According to the New York Post, Comer identified nine Biden family members who allegedly received foreign cash under what he and fellow Republicans described as suspicious circumstances involving little or no real work.

Meanwhile, Chairman Comer was not satisfied with the FBI's reply.

“It's clear from the FBI's response that the unclassified record the Oversight Committee subpoenaed exists, but they are refusing to provide it to the Committee,” Comer said.

“We've asked the FBI to not only provide this record but to also inform us what it did to investigate these allegations,” Comer stated. “The FBI has failed to do both. We plan to follow up with the FBI and expect compliance with the subpoena.”

Let's see where this leads and how much more the FBI will stonewall the Oversight Committee. But either way, the heat is increasing on Hunter Biden and his dad.
