ANALYSIS – Hamas is the one committing war crimes. The growing far-left and anti-Jewish chorus blaming only Israel for thousands of civilian deaths in Gaza, totally ignores the overwhelming evidence that shows Hamas terrorists are using all of Gaza as a giant human shield.
By creating a vast 300-mile maze of underground terror tunnels directly beneath the densely populated cities and refugee camps above, the savages stay relatively safe and supplied below ground as the civilians above are evacuated, killed, wounded or are suffering deprivation. Hamas uses these tunnels to transport weapons and ammunition, store supplies and train its members without exposing them to enemy surveillance and fire.
In one recent incident an Israeli airstrike had a bigger than intended impact when they say the terror tunnels caved in underneath.
But its not just the underground Hamas rat network that deliberately endangers Palestinian civilians, but their placement of weapons, command centers and other military targets in or around civilian infrastructure above ground, including mosques, schools and hospitals. And by ignoring this deplorable Hamas tactic, which is an undisputed war crime, the rabidly ignorant Palestinian supporters are enabling it and condemning more civilian Gazans to death.
In a Sunday morning video posted on X, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) showed how Hamas rocket launchers were discovered in the northern region of the Gaza Strip near both a public playground and swimming pool frequented by children.
The soldiers of the 551st Brigade said the video shows “further proof of the ceaseless use of the terrorist organization Hamas in the civilian population as a human shield for the benefit of terrorist needs.”
Newsmax reported the IDF as adding:
“IDF soldiers located rocket launchers near a children's swimming pool, as well as launch pits and rocket launchers in an old children's playground in the Gaza Strip. This is further proof of Hamas' deliberate use of civilian infrastructure and civilians – including children – as human shields for its military operations.”
The IDF has warned mainstream media of the Hamas scheme after it waged a massive attack on Israel on Oct. 7, taking hostages from Israel and using them and the women and children of Gaza as human shields to protect it from Israel's retaliatory military operation to free the hostages.
“All of this is in the heart of a residential neighborhood,” a soldier explained in the video.
But it's not just the Israelis who say Hamas uses children as human shields, Hamas admits as much.
As the New York Post reported:
An interviewer recently posed a logical question to Mousa Abu Marzouk, a senior member of the Hamas politburo: “Since you have built 500 kilometers (300 miles) of tunnels, why haven't you built bomb shelters where civilians can hide during bombardments?”
Abu Marzouk said the tunnels are “meant to protect us” from Israeli aircraft and facilitate attacks on Israeli targets.
“Us” meaning Hamas. Not civilians.
Hamas chooses not to build bomb shelters in Gaza because that would undercut its ability to use the population as human shields.
Hamas has also deliberately kept Gazans in danger telling them to ignore Israeli urgings to evacuate, with Eyad al-Bozom, a spokesman for the Hamas ‘interior ministry' telling the civilians to “stay put in your homes and your places.”
Fortunately, at least on this issue, Team Biden has been spot-on.
Speaking on CNN, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby explained, “Hamas actually gave a counterorder telling Palestinians in Gaza to stay at home. Why? And I would add, if it doesn't protect them, then scores of Gazans die, and they can blame Israel, instead of their own war crimes. Which is what we are seeing now.
