Iran’s Terror Proxies Are ‘Teaming Up’ To Attack Americans, Biden Does Nothing

THURSDAY PDB – Iran’s proxy forces are teaming up to attack Americans. Team Biden often says it wants to prevent the Israel-Gaza war from expanding across the region. But Joe Biden does nothing.

The near-daily attacks by Iranian-backed militias on U.S. troops in several Middle Eastern countries demonstrate that Biden’s containment effort is failing.

Iran is already attacking U.S. bases using its proxy forces – and the U.S. has yet to respond. 21 troops injured in Iraq and Syria drone strikes. The injuries occurred during attacks on Oct. 17 and 18.

NOBODY BELIEVES HIS ‘THREATS’ – Biden warns of response if Iran attacks US troops. The comments come on the heels of several attacks against American soldiers and military installations in the Middle East.

Tank raid inside Gaza will enable ‘next stages of the war.’ Israeli infantry backed by tanks and armored bulldozers have attacked Hamas targets in an hours-long overnight ground raid into the northern Gaza Strip.

US seeks delay in Gaza ground invasion to put air defenses in place. The systems would provide more protection for American troops at bases in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere.

TRAGIC – BUT THEY WERE HAMAS HUMAN SHIELDS – Family of Al Jazeera Gaza bureau chief killed in Israeli air raid. Attack kills daughter, wife, son of Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Wael Dahdouh.

POLITICS

GOP hawks praise new House speaker amid Ukraine, budget uncertainty. The House elected Mike Johnson as the new speaker. He has the confidence of defense hawks, but GOP uncertainty on the budget and Ukraine aid remains.

PODCAST – Who is the new Speaker of the House? Rep. Mike Johnson pledged support for Israel but did not mention Ukraine in his first speech before the lower chamber. 

GOP IS RIGHT – Senators could force confirmation vote on Navy, Air Force leaders. Republicans are pushing for individual votes on the vacant Joint Chiefs posts, while Democrats are looking to advance hundreds of pending promotions.

CHINA THREAT

BIDEN’S PATHETIC AND DANGEROUS GROVELING AT CHINA’S FEET – As world roils, Biden begs to ease strained ties and prepare for possible Biden-Xi summit. Biden is naively hoping to find some common ground with China as China’s top diplomat visits Washington this week.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR

Ukrainian pilots start training on the F-16 in Arizona. The U.S. has begun training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16s.

Russian drone debris downs power lines near Ukraine nuclear plant. Russia fired 11 Iranian-made Shahed drones against Ukrainian targets, reaching deep into Ukraine while falling debris damaged power lines near a nuclear power plant in the country’s west.

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 610. Russian forces were pressing ahead to capture the eastern Ukrainian city of Avdiivka, despite mounting losses. The Russians are reportedly using small infantry assault groups of between 30 and 40 men. Russia has sustained 2,500 dead and wounded in six days.

Russia prison population plummets as convicts are sent to war. Russia has freed up to 100,000 prison inmates and sent them to fight in Ukraine — a far greater number than was previously known.

NORTH KOREA THREAT

South Korea, US and Japan condemn North Korea’s alleged supply of munitions to Russia. The three allies said Thursday that such weapons shipments sharply increase the human toll of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

South Korea seeks to beef up annual amphibious drills with more US Marines. The South Korean military wants more Marines to participate in annual large-scale amphibious training on and around the Korean Peninsula.

SPACE THREAT

Space Force planning $8 billion satellite architecture for nuclear command and control. A request for proposals is expected in early 2024 for the space segment of the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications System.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

Fresh set of B-52 bombers arrives on Guam for Air Force’s ongoing task force mission. The long-range, nuclear-capable bombers will conduct missions meant to hone their crews’ skills and project U.S. airpower across the Indo-Pacific.

US Army’s Pacific corps will invite more allies to join groundbreaking comms platform. Mission partner environment, which debuted with Australia, will be extended to other exercise partners in the coming year.

US drills with allies in the South China Sea, ghost fleet ships operate off Australia. Warships from the U.S., Australia, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand drilled jointly on Monday while the U.S. Navy’s ‘Ghost Fleet’ arrived in Sydney, Australia to drill with the Royal Australian Navy.

NATO chief tells allies it’s time to increase arms stockpiles, stay on war footing. Depleted weapons stockpiles and a dangerous security outlook mean NATO countries need to ramp up arms production for the long haul.

At EU Summit, Slovakia says it will not support more military aid to Ukraine. Slovakia’s newly appointed Prime Minister Robert Fico said he will not back more military aid for Ukraine nor support further sanctions against Russia.

US MILITARY

Navy test-fires missile from mobile launcher aboard LCS Savannah. The littoral combat ship fired a SM-6 missile from a “containerized launching system” at a target in the Pacific Ocean, signaling a way that the lightly armed ship class could one day contribute to a conventional naval battle.

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT – Mother of Travis King, soldier charged with desertion to North Korea, says family plans to ‘fight charges hard.‘  The Army private was charged with desertion for crossing the Demilitarized Zone into North Korea this summer.
