Is Tucker Carlson A Total Putin Stooge? We May Soon Find Out

-

ANALYSIS – It sure seems like he is. Or is he just an unprincipled hack looking to regain his audience, make more money and curry favor with some of the more isolationist and Russia loving members on the very far-right?

Or is he just dumb? Or all of the above?

I have defended Carlson, the former Fox News host, on many occasions where he is spot-on with his conservative ideas, including his views on the border, immigration and his bashing of the establishment .

But I have also criticized him for increasingly bizarre and fringe views. Especially those views friendly toward and Russia. And I have also been critical of his views on that border on antisemitic.

And now, according to the man himself, Carlson interviewed Putin during his visit to Moscow, making him the first member of the U.S. media to be granted an interview with Russia's president since that country's invasion of  in 2022.

And this love fest with the Russian strongman is impossible for me to defend. The only reason to go to Russia at the same time our country is helping defend a European country from brutal naked aggression is to give aid and comfort to the enemy.

In a video posted to X Carlson said that it was important to understand Putin's views given how the war in Ukraine was impacting the world, but more so to him, since the U.S. has provided billions of dollars in financial, humanitarian and military aid to help defend Ukraine.

The Journal reported:

The interview will be posted on X and TuckerCarlson.com, the website of the commentator's media startup, Carlson said. It is likely to be posted on Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter.

“Most Americans have no idea why Putin invaded Ukraine, or what his goals are now,” Carlson said in the video. “They've never heard his voice. That's wrong. Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they're implicated in, and we have the right to tell them about it because we are Americans too.”

But how many Americans were interested in Hitler's motives for conquering all of Europe, starting with small countries first? How many needed to hear his voice or listen to his unhinged tirades?

Same goes for giving Osama bin Laden an interview to explain why he brutally attacked two major American cities in a terror attack on Sept. 11, 2001.

My answer is – very few need to hear bilge spilled by a corrupt and brutal dictator or bloody Islamist terrorist.

This last example is especially apt, since recently Bin Laden's open letter trying to justify his attacks was trending on social media, and many idiotic and uninformed Americans were saying they agreed with, or now understood, the terror mastermind.

And we really don't need anyone here to give a brutal dictator a huge podium in America to help spread his propaganda. But Carlson is sure doing his best to change how America deals with evil.

As part of his Russia love tour, Carlson was photographed at various historic sites.

On Tuesday, the pro-Putin Evening Moscow newspaper featured a front page photo of Carlson with the headline: “Carlson, who lives in America, but speaks the truth.”'

You can't be more of a Putin propaganda puppet than that. Or can you? Let's wait for his interview with the tyrant.

In posts on X this week, Trump-hating former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger (whom I personally and intensely dislike) reacted to news of Carlson's visit to Moscow by calling him a “traitor” and asked whether Carlson is on Putin's payroll.

Well, Carlson may not be directly on Putin's payroll, but being a useful idiot is just as bad.

Or maybe it is about the cash. Late last year, Carlson launched a paid streaming service, Tucker Carlson Network, which charges subscribers for ad-free access to Carlson's short videos, interviews, tirades and “documentaries.”

This, and other dangerously naive interviews is a great way to help jump start that very expensive venture. Maybe if I was a Putin apologist, Carlson would help promote me.
