ANALYSIS – Should she be expelled and deported? Ilhan Omar, the antisemitic, member of the leftist radicals in Congress known as “the Squad,” is again highlighting a serious threat to the U.S. That is the danger of waves of non-assimilating immigrants.
In this case in our own federal legislature.
Omar is one of several America-hating leftists serving in Congress today who are either foreign born or show strong loyalties to their parent's country of origin, often over and above their loyalty to America. All of these are Democrats.
While there are over two dozen foreign-born members of Congress, and many more are children of foreign-born immigrant parents, the much smaller number of Republicans in that group don't fall into the socialist, America-hating camp.
One prominent example of a Democrat U.S. representative born in this country of foreign parents who shows more loyalty to her people than the American people, is Hamas sympathizer Rashida Tlaib, who is of Palestinian descent.
She was one of only two members of Congress (both Democrats – Cori Bush being the other) to vote against a bill to ban Hamas terrorists from the United States.
But perhaps a more egregious example is Omar, who was recently caught on video calling the president of Somalia her true president.
As The Blaze reported:
“Our president, the president of Somalia — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud — let us give him a warm welcome, Minneapolis!” Omar announced to a cheering crowd.
“The president and I have a special relationship. I call him uncle, and he calls me his girl. Welcome to your home; our home is your home. … We are very happy that Hassan is our president. Somalia is our home. It is home to all the people gathered here. We do not feel that it is far from us. Somalia is our heart. It is in our hearts. We always think about Somalia,” Omar continued.
Omar went on to assure her mostly Somali audience that she is “Somali first, Muslim second.” She also told them that they could “sleep in comfort knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system.”
“The whole purpose of the United States of America is that you assimilate into the culture of the United States of America,” political analyst Dave Rubin notes in the video above.
He adds:
“You don't forget all of your traditions. … You don't forget where you're from. You don't forget your family,” he says, “but you have it fold into this beautiful thing that is America.”
That concept is something Ilhan Omar doesn't understand or rejects outright as she has repeatedly expressed anti-American sentiments in favor of her Somali background.
She recently went viral for claiming that “it's the Somalians' job in the United States to make America work for Somalia.”
But as Rubin rightly points out:
She is a sitting congresswoman. I'm fairly certain that America is our nation,” not Somalia, as Omar repeatedly claimed in her speech.
Many have expressed outrage over her comments – even asking for her expulsion from Congress and removing her citizenship. In a separate report, The Blaze added:
Prominent Republicans immediately began calling for Omar's expulsion from Congress, denaturalization, and deportation. And rightly so — the last thing our country needs is a Manchurian candidate serving the interests of an unstable terror haven like Somalia from within the U.S. Congress.
And there is cause for all of the above. But Team Biden appears to be covering for her slow rolling or quashing an FBI investigation into her past actions.
The Blaze continues:
She has been accused of marrying Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, who is allegedly her brother — while still legally married to her first husband — in order to obtain a green card for him. Omar has publicly claimed Elmi is not her sibling, but she has never provided any documentation or other information that would put the matter to rest.
If the allegations are true, then Omar is guilty of incest, bigamy, and immigration fraud. A conviction for any of those three offenses would likely render her subject to expulsion from Congress, denaturalization, rescission of her green card, and deportation from the United States. But, while the FBI has purportedly looked into these issues, the bureau hasn't revealed any of its findings.
Maybe it's time to consider pursuing her alleged crimes more seriously. It would set a great example to expel Omar from Congress and deport her back to Somalia.
