Pentagon Lied About Deadly Terror Attack On Marines At Kabul Airport

-

ANALYSIS – And Republicans want the truth! The deadliest single attack on U.S. forces in over a decade occurred during 's disastrous retreat from Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.

On that day, an improvised explosive device or IED, carried in a backpack by an ISIS-K suicide bomber, detonated outside Hamid Karzai International Airport's Abbey Gate.

Around 170 Afghans, seeking escape from the Taliban takeover of Kabul, and 13 U.S. military personnel (mostly Marines) were killed. It should not have occurred. (RELATED: Alec Baldwin Sued By Family Of Fallen Marine In Kabul For Slandering His Sister As An ‘Insurrectionist')

But once it did, the American people deserved the truth about how it happened and who might be to blame. Unsurprisingly, Team Biden has misled us.

Since the attack, the Biden Pentagon has conducted two supposedly thorough investigations of the attack – the most recent report released last month – but both have proven misleading, inadequate, or outright false. (RELATED: Top General Says Dumb Woke Things – Complains of Being a ‘Lightning Rod')

And now, nine “Republican members of have written to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin urging him to explain discrepancies between CNN reporting last month about the ISIS-K bombing.”

That report, using one Marine's GoPro camera footage not publicly seen until now, contradicts the Pentagon investigations into the deadly Kabul airport attack.

Specifically, the CNN report revealed that there were many more episodes of gunfire than the Pentagon has ever admitted, which casts major doubt on the official narrative that the attack was conducted by a lone suicide bomber and was not part of a coordinated terrorist attack.

Another CNN report notes that:

The letter was sent on Tuesday by congressmen on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and presented a series of pointed questions for the Pentagon about its investigations into the deadliest incident in Afghanistan in decades – a brutal, bloody end point to America's longest war. The eight congressmen, five of whom are veterans with experience in Afghanistan, urged Austin “in the strongest possible terms to account for the discrepancy between the results of the (US Central Command) CENTCOM investigation and this new reporting…”

The GOP representatives – Mike Waltz, Darrell Issa, Tim Burchett, Brian Mast, , Keith Self, Cory Mills and Chris Smith – requested further action by investigators. The chairman of the House Foreign Affairs committee, Rep. Michael McCaul, was added to the letter Wednesday.

CNN continues:

Much of the controversy about the Pentagon's two investigations into the attack has focused on gunfire in the aftermath of the blast. Some Marines have told military investigators they felt they were being shot at or opened fire themselves, and 19 Afghan survivors told CNN in 2022 they were shot themselves or witnessed Afghans being shot. But the two Pentagon investigations – released in February 2022 and last month – concluded the only shooting in the aftermath came from US and UK troops in three bursts that were “nearly simultaneous,” and hit no one.

However, the new video footage appears to show extended gunfire in controlled bursts for several minutes after the initial explosion. (RELATED: Pentagon Leaders Obsessed With Climate Change Plan As Afghanistan Collapsed)

Under pressure from the families of some of the Marines killed, CNN reported:

The new CENTCOM commander, Gen. Erik Kurilla, ordered in September last year a supplemental review of the military's 2022 investigation into the incident, and the families of dead servicemen were briefed last month on its results. Its focus was mainly whether the ISIS-K suicide bomber could have been stopped and determined the attack “could not have been preventable at the tactical level.” The families have long maintained more could have been done to stop the ISIS-K suicide bomber.

Who is ISIS-K?

At the time, the Pentagon tried to shift the blame of the attack on our staunch ally, Great Britain, claiming in a leak to Politico that the Brits kept Abbey Gate open to evacuate U.K. citizens. And that accusation didn't go well in London. (RELATED: Police Warn Social Media User After Posting About ‘Adult Baby' Speaking To Children)

National Review reported:

“I do think now to attempt to try and brief against the UK on the suicide bombing is reprehensible really, because, you know, if the American government or the American military were very serious about shutting the gates, they would have shut the gates,” he continued.

A U.K. government official also told LBC, “The U.S. is having to explain the total mess that has been the evacuation. There's clearly some hard briefing going on.”

In addition to the British government, members of Parliament are pushing back against the apparent leak to Politico.

“President Biden was responsible for those decisions which, I believe, were critical in the course of the events that we've seen unfolding,” Iain Duncan Smith, a Conservative MP, told LBC.

So, who do you trust more, the Biden Pentagon or the Brits and your own eyes and ears?
