Mexican President Vows To Launch US Election Interference Campaign Targeting Republicans

-

Tensions are rising between the United States and Mexico

On Thursday, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador threatened to commence an “information campaign” against after some lawmakers proposed harsher measures to crack down on smuggling fentanyl into the country.

Fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more fatal than morphine…

“Starting today we are going to start an information campaign for Mexicans who live and work in the United States and for all Hispanics to inform them of what we are doing in and how this initiative by the Republicans, in addition to being irresponsible, is an offense against the people of Mexico, a lack of respect for our independence, our sovereignty,” President Obrador said.

“And if they do not change their attitude and think that they are going to use Mexico for their propaganda, electoral, and political purposes, we are going to call for them not to vote for that party, because it is interventionist, inhumane, hypocritical, and corrupt,” Lopez Obrador said, later adding that Mexico would be insisting that “not one vote” goes to Republicans from Mexicans and Hispanics.

The President of Mexico was responding to recent calls for action from Republican lawmakers, including military action, to crack down on the ongoing smuggling crisis.

Earlier this week, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that he intends to introduce legislation that would designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs) and authorize the U.S. to use military force to go into Mexico and destroy the drug networks.

“We're going to unleash the fury and might of the United States against these cartels,” Graham said. “We're going to destroy their business model and their lifestyle because our national security and the security of the United States as a whole depends on us taking decisive action.”

“Not to invade Mexico, not to shoot Mexican airplanes down, but to destroy drug labs that are poisoning Americans,” he said according to Fox News.

Former President Trump's national security adviser John Bolton on Friday argued against labeling Mexican drug cartels foreign terrorist organizations

“I don't underestimate their threat. I've been talking about it for a long time. We were very worried about it in the Trump administration. The cartels in Mexico, the cartels in Colombia have been growing in strength,” Bolton said on NewsNation's “Morning in America.”

“But I think it fuzzes things up to label something as bad as the drug cartels a terrorist organization,” Bolton continued. “They're not like or Hezbollah. It's a different threat; it's a serious problem. As I say, I'm not underestimating it at all, but I think rhetorical gimmicks don't help advance policy.”

The DEA said in December that “most of the fentanyl trafficked by the Sinaloa and CJNG Cartels is being mass-produced at secret factories in Mexico with chemicals sourced largely from China.”

Members of a Mexican cartel kidnapped four Americans who traveled across the border from Brownsville, Texas, to Matamoros, Tamaulipas, last week. Two of the Americans and an innocent Mexican bystander died during the incident involving the Gulf Cartel, according to U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar.

  1. Well, Mexico started the war didn’t they. They are the ones who have been allowing Chinese drugs into Mexico and than sending the drugs into the U.S. They are responsible for the U.S. deaths from the drugs Mexico sends over the border. This is no different than sending an airplane dropping bombs into the U.S. resulting in deaths of U.S. citizens. Mexico is also the one helping the drug gangs to grow big and letting these gangs to carry Chinese and Mexican made drugs into the U.S. I would suggest the U.S. has been very careless for not stopping Mexico from doing a drug business across our borders. Our U.S. govt is also just as responsible and maybe in partnership with Mexico and China to bring in drugs into the U.S. and letting our citizens be killed as a result of the three country partnership. It’s time to break up this three country partnership and it’s starts with our govt and Mexico. Three countries are making a lot of money off these drugs and that money needs to be stopped being allowed to end up in a few rich people’s hands at the expense of innocent citizens too stupid to say no to drugs.

  2. Are all Mexicans here in the U.S. because of President Lopez Obrador’s honesty and integrity? And they’re gonna’ follow his orders???

    Yeah. Right.

  3. So they left your country for our country why? Because you are corrupt and if you think these people are going to listen to you a corrupted man your funny. The interference will be a huge mistake. It’s time the US stops sending our tax payers money to Mexico.

  4. Betcha a nickel Senor El Presidente is corrupt, in bed with the Cartels! Of course he sides with the DemoCreeps.

    • I’m sure quite a few of the conniving Demmunuists are on the cartel’s payroll, as well! When he was arrested and sent to prison here in the US, El Chapo–big cheese in one of the cartels–said he had paid MILLIONS of dollars to Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff and Hillary Clinton. He had no reason to lie–he was ALREADY in prison!

  5. Looks like all Mexican citizens inthe United States will now vote Democratic in the 2024 election. This should help John Fetterman get in

  6. Funny, the President of Mexico saying he will call on Mexicans to vote against Republicans. Apparently he believes non-citizens are actually being allowed to vote in the USA otherwise it’s a hollow threat.

    • Non-citizens ARE being allowed to vote in US elections by the THOUSANDS in places like California and Arizona. WHY do you think the conniving, power-mad Demmunists are so eager to get MORE of them in the US?

  7. Of COURSE he wants to keep the conniving Demmunists in office–that way he can continue to transport ALL his country’s “problem children,” criminals, etc. to OUR border and dump them on US, instead of dealing with them, himself!

  8. This shows that the influx over the years is an invasion. With the added latin channels on TV and radio, the Mexican president has a means of direct communication influencing his operatives in the U.S. He has already praised the fact that there are tens of millions in the U.S. By their sheer numbers they already influence, mostly democrat, politicians, local, state, and national. Build the border wall and control the illegal entries.

  9. “…a lack of respect for our independence, our sovereignty.”. He’s got a lot of chutzpah, citing Mexico’s sovereignty, when his people are coming over our southern border, ignoring our laws and our sovereignty, every single day. And what makes him think that Mexicans are allowed to vote, well…legally, anyway, in our elections? If they want to vote, they should go back home to Mexico … And they ought to be voting his corrupt “tuchas” out of office and trying to find a president who can’t be bought or intimidated buy the cartels. Although I am not sure any such person exists in Mexico or any place in Central or South America, for that matter.
