Former Fox News editor and on-air personality Chris Stirewalt made a surprising announcement Friday.
The longtime Fox star-turned-network critic has been called to testify before the Jan. 6 committee on Monday.
Stirewalt told journalist Adrienne Bankert he’s not in a position to discuss what he’s going to be testifying about.

His announcement came the morning after the committee’s first public hearing on the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, when hundreds of followers of then-President Donald Trump busted through doors and windows to invade the Capitol and delay Congress’ confirmation of Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election.
Fox sparked controversy when network executives announced journalists from their news division would cover the Jan. 6 hearings on Fox Business Network while pro-Trump hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham would host their top-rated shows without commercial interruption at the same time as the hearings. Carlson himself dismissed the hearing as “propaganda.”
Even some supporters of the hearing found its first night underwhelming. Along with disturbing testimony from a police officer who confronted a group of Proud Boys infuriated by baseless election claims and Rep. Liz Cheney’s claim that Trump seemed to agree that then-Vice President Mike Pence deserved to be hung, the most significant moment came when Ivanka Trump agreed that her father lost the election.

While few conservatives watched the hearing, and swing voters were probably unmoved given their day-to-day concerns, the former president had plenty to say and let his thoughts be known to his followers on Truth Social.
The Hill reports:
“So the Unselect Committee of political HACKS refuses to play any of the many positive witnesses and statements, refuses to talk of the Election Fraud and Irregularities that took place on a massive scale,” Trump wrote in a post. “Our Country is in such trouble!”
Trump had also publicly denounced the hearing earlier in the day, before the event began, through a statement from his Save America PAC, describing the 2021 Capitol riot as the “greatest movement” in the history of the U.S.
Trump continued, criticizing his daughter and berating his ex-attorney general, who told him there was no evidence of voter fraud sufficient to overturn the election results.
“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results. She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!),” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
According to Nielsen, 20 million Americans watched the hearings.
Although Fox News regularly beats out MSNBC and CNN combined, MSNBC topped Fox last night during prime time, with the left-wing network averaging 3.95 million viewers.

FOX correctly called AZ for Biden, my foot! They called it with 48% of the ballots counted with Trump slightly behind. After “2,000 Mules” we now know how that happened, and that FOX was in on the coup! I’ve not watched, nor supported them since.

It’s all an overtly stupid, lame attempt by the libs to divert attention from the abysmal mess Biden has made of this country in a relatively brief amount of time. The things Trump did to build up America’s economy and regain our status as a world leader was amazing; what Biden’s done to destroy everything Trump accomplished is nauseating.

There is only one reason that Dems are putting on this show trial – they are hoping that it will save them in the November elections. They are terrified that the GOP will sweep the elections and they are desperate to turn that around.
