ANALYSIS – According to the establishment media narrative and the partisan spin, the anti-Trump House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot has uncovered ‘damming' evidence of the former President's ‘criminal conduct' regarding the Capitol riot.
In their contrived version of events, texts to and from Trump's Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Donald Trump Jr., members of Congress, as well as the conservative media, on that day confirm “the White House knew exactly what was happening at the Capitol.”
As Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney stated before reading the text messages:
These texts leave no doubt: the White House knew exactly what was happening at the Capitol. Members of Congress, the press, and others wrote to Mark Meadows as the attack was underway.

Cheney Added:
Mr. Meadows's testimony will bear on another key question before this committee: Did Donald Trump, through action or inaction, corruptly seek to obstruct or impede Congress' official proceeding to count electoral votes?
However, New York Times bestselling author and BlazeTV host Mark Levin unpacked the so-called “evidence of criminal conduct” and argues the evidence clearly proves the opposite.
Levine notes that the texts nearly all showed beyond a doubt that the people in President Trump's inner-circle were shocked and surprised by the protest-turned-riot.
They also clearly show that neither the president nor his chief of staff had prior knowledge of or participated in planning the Jan. 6 riot. As Levin states:
Now let me ask you a question: What does that demonstrate? It proves the case against their own narrative. If Donald Trump were leading an insurrection, don't you think Don Jr. would be in on it? If Donald Trump were leading an insurrection, don't you think some of his friends in the media would know about it rather than telling him … to do something about this? It wouldn't be the other way around.
…That's the point. If you had somebody with a 4 IQ there, they'd have said, ‘Wait a minute, if Don Jr is pleading with his dad to say something (in response to the riot), then obviously Don Jr. didn't know about it in advance, or these Fox hosts didn't know about it in advance, nor did the president, nor did his chief of staff.' Right? Because they would have talked to their friends and their compatriots.
This is hardly the smoking gun of Trump ‘criminal conduct' the Democrats are cynically spinning. Instead, it shows a concerned Trump inner circle worried about the damage being caused by rioters who on their own went too far and needed to be stopped.
And the Trump Chief of Staff fielding these concerns, including from the President's son, as he tried to help de-escalate the situation that no one appears to have foreseen.
What a WASTE of time and money. DUH!
It’s absolutely laughable. It’s the ‘ol “who you gonna believe, us or your lyin’ eyes. The treat the rest of us as if we are total idiots!
I don’t believe anything a democrat has to say. Lies , lies, and more lies.
As usual the dems have noting they can pin on Trump, but they will insist that they do and continue to waste taxpayer dollars on their witch hunt. Their hate of Trump is so great that facts and truth does not matter to them. Nothing new there!
