Several Members of Congress – including Senator Marco Rubio – found themselves in hot water over the weekend for tweeting out screenshots of a Zoom call brokered by Ukraine's Ambassador to the U.S Oksana Markarova between Members and Ukraine's President Zelenskyy.
Marco Rubio came under fire for tweeting out a photo of the meeting, even though members on the call were explicitly asked not to publish such photos. This request was probably made for Zelenskyy's safety as he has allegedly faced multiple assassination attempts in recent days.
However, it should be noted that other Members from both parties and both chambers tweeted out photos of the meeting, including Democrat Representative Collin Allred of Texas, Republican Representative French Hill of Arkansas, and Rubio's fellow Senate Republican Steve Daines of Montana.
Rubio facing the brunt of the media's ire can probably be put to the level of prominence that he holds as a former presidential candidate, Senator, the Vice Chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence, and Ranking Member of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women's Issues.
Ambassador Markarova has become a very prominent figure in recent weeks – not only on Capitol Hill but across American media outlets as well. Expect to see more from her as America decides what role – if any – it will play in the Russia/Ukraine conflict.

Putin is one of the worst of all time. He is guilty of war crimes, even if not formally charged. The Ukraine people do not deserve the punishment they are receiving. The enemy of our enemy is our friend.
