Virginia state senator and Republican candidate in VA-05, John McGuire announced Monday that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has endorsed his campaign.
McGuire is mounting a substantive primary challenge to incumbent VA-05 Congressman Bob Good, a fellow Republican.
In endorsing McGuire's campaign, Giuliani stated the following:
“I know Donald Trump, and if you like Donald Trump, John McGuire is your guy. Bob Good stabbed Trump in the back, and John has been with Trump since he came down the escalator. He's a Navy SEAL who has run counter-drug missions south of the border, so he knows how to deal with the border and the cartels. He's a strong leader, not an untrustworthy backstabber like Bob Good. A vote for John is a vote for Trump.”
McGuire celebrated the endorsement, noting:
“I appreciate Rudy Giuliani's service to our country and his great leadership in our time of peril. I also appreciate his loyalty and support for Donald Trump. I'm running to get the job done for the people of Virginia's 5th District and support Trump's agenda. Bob Good has failed at doing both.”
Virginia's primary election will be held on June 18th, 2024.
