AIM Increases Pressure On Harvard President To Resign

Pressure is mounting for President to step down from her position.

This comes after Gay and the presidents of MIT and UPenn testified before a House committee on how is being handled – or not handled – on their campuses.

There has been a widespread call for her resignation, including a statement from more than 70 members of , an article in The Atlantic, and commentary from Alan Dershowitz and Bill Ackman, among others.

“Knowing what we know now, would Harvard consider Claudine Gay for the position? The answer is definitively ‘No,'” he wrote, adding that the decision of whether to fire Gay “could not be more straightforward.”

But the university has stood behind Gay. An article from the Harvard Crimson said Gay will “remain in office with the support of the Harvard Corporation – the University's highest governing body – following the conclusion of the board's meeting on Monday.”

Harvard has made it clear that the university will not hold Gay accountable for her actions. had already sent a mobile billboard to her home, but on Tuesday ramped up the pressure – sending four billboards with an unmistakable message: It's time for Gay to step down.
