Greg Gutfeld Mocks Kristi Noem For Canceling Appearance Over Weather

-

Before scrapping her press tour altogether, South Dakota Gov. bailed on her sit-down with , citing a winter weather advisory in her home state.

Besides detailing her decision to kill her allegedly untrainable 14-month-old dog as well as the uncastrated family goat, the book also contained an excerpt about her allegedly meeting with North Korean Dictator , which she now refuses to confirm or deny, despite including it in the chronicle of her political career.

Typically, Fox would be the perfect place for Noem to rehabilitate her image after said excerpts went viral for all the wrong reasons. But Gutfeld wasn't feeling sympathetic following the last-minute snub. (RELATED: She's Beautiful, She's Trump's Friend And The Media Is Out For Blood)

While the governor's team cited a winter weather advisory in the Black Hills, a significant inconvenience but not enough to justify a warning, Noem was in City when she decided to cancel on Gutfeld. (RELATED: MAGA Star Flees Following Televised Humiliation)

Regarding Noem's excuse, Gutfeld offered a pun-filled rebuttal, as Mediaite reported: “I don't believe it. I just think it's a little late to keep her on a short leash. I hoped she'd reconsider, but I'm not going to sit up and beg.”

Despite the roast, Gutfeld suggested that Noem could've benefited from her appearance: “You know, you could've done the show. Could have done the show,” the pro-Trump host teased. “We are nice people. Everybody here teases everybody else. We have a good time. You probably would come off looking a lot better than you do now because we would have had fun, but instead, you chose to run. Gutfeld proceeded to speak to Fox News host and well-known dog lover Dana Perino filling in for the missing governor:

“So, Dana, AKA Gov. Noem, did you write the book yourself?” Gutfeld asked.

“You know, that's a great question for someone who wrote the book, and I don't think I will dignify your question with a response. There are so many other important issues in the world like animal cruelty,” Perino said as Noem.

Gutfeld then asked if she'd actually read the book.

“Thank you for reading my book. I said some words that were written about me, and they were in a certain order of…they call them sentences, and so I read those aloud. I don't know if that means I read the book, though,” Perino said.

When asked if she regretted including the dog killing story, Perino fired off a list of made-up regrets, including a final dig at the governor: “I also regret not canceling on you on Saturday, so I didn't waste your time reading a book that I was not going to come on and do the interview about.”

“Amen” Gutfeld responded.
