Hunter Biden has dropped his lawsuit against Fox News which he accused of intentionally painting him in an unflattering light in a recent miniseries.
Biden dropped the suit Sunday “without prejudice,” according to court records.
In the lawsuit, filed in the Supreme Court of New York, the president's son alleged Fox targeted him with the series “in an effort to harass, annoy, alarm, and humiliate him, and tarnish his reputation.” (RELATED: Hunter Biden Sues Fox News)
In a statement when the suit was initially filed, Fox called it “entirely politically motivated” and “devoid of merit.”
“The core complaint stems from a 2022 streaming program that Mr. Biden did not complain about until sending a letter in late April 2024. The program was removed within days of the letter, in an abundance of caution, but Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon,” the network said. “Consistent with the First Amendment, Fox News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden's own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court.”
Biden was found guilty of three federal gun charges, including lying about drug use when purchasing a firearm last month, marking the first criminal conviction of a sitting president's child.
