The California state Assembly passed a bill that gives illegal immigrants a home buying tax break, sparking outrage among residents.
State Rep. Joaquin Arambula justified the controversial legislation, “When undocumented individuals are excluded from such programs, they miss out on a crucial method of securing financial security and personal stability for themselves and their families.”
This is far from the first initiative of its kind. In cities and states across the country, Democrats and ideologically aligned organizations are working to provide rental subsidies to illegal migrants.
In Oregon, Democrats funded Hacienda CDC's $30,000 grants to home-buying foreigners, openly defying federal law barring discrimination against Americans.
The only requirements listed to participate in the program were that buyers were pre-approved for a mortgage loan and weren't American citizens. There was no stipulation listed about criminal record or how long someone had been in the country.
Hacienda CDC describes itself as a Latino-led Community Development Corporation that strengthens families by providing affordable housing, homeownership support, economic advancement and educational opportunities.
Republican Rep. Ed Diehl blasted the project on n Facebook.
“American citizens in Oregon are struggling to find and buy a home. We have a severe housing shortage in this state. I am appalled that the hard-earned, limited tax dollars of Oregonians are being used to prioritize home ownership for certain non-US citizens.”
Vice presidential candidate JD Vance has been vocal on the issue and its impact on the American people in the midst of one of the worst housing markets in the nation's history, where for the first time what would be the next generations of homebuyers feel like they have no realistic path to home ownership.
“The places in our own communities and states that have the highest immigration rates are the places with the highest home prices. It's not a correlation versus causation issue. If you actually look at it metro zone by metro zone, or parcel by parcel, you can see that where there is more immigration, there are higher home prices.”

That welcome for illegals has sharply spiked rental and house-buying costs for the tens of millions of young Americans who, since 2020, must compete for the limited supply of real estate and for good housing against the fast-growing population of illegal migrants.
While Democrats are more open and prolific in their efforts to entice and encourage illegal immigration, in some cases, Republicans have ignored and allowed these initiatives for political convenience, as they rely on the real estate industry for critical support.

In Texas, for example, the GOP-dominated government has largely ignored a huge housing development designed for illegal migrants. The Colony Ridge development already houses 75,000 migrants, according to Todd Bensman, a migration expert with the Center for Immigration Studies.
One of the few policies sitting Vice President and presidential hopeful Kamala Harris has revealed is that if elected, she intends to provide $25,000 grants to first-time homebuyers. She never clarified whether these grants would be exclusively available to American citizens. Her running mate granted “free” education and healthcare to illegal aliens as governor of Minnesota, so it isn't difficult to imagine them extending this program to noncitizens.
