Things are heating up in the Keystone State.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report has amended its prediction for the Pennsylvania race again in less than two months, shifting the race towards Republicans. Cook moved the race from “leans Democrat” to “toss up.”
The election forecaster noted multiple recent reports that have indicated Democrat candidate John Fetterman‘s lead over celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz is rapidly shrinking.
A recent survey from The Hill/ Emerson College reported Fetterman with only a two-point lead over Oz, a distinct fall from the last poll conducted in August which reported Fetterman holding a four-point advantage over the Republican.
According to The Hill, Oz's campaign also reported a significant fundraising boost in the third quarter. On Tuesday, the campaign announced it brought in $17.2 million during the reporting period, including a personal loan of $7 million.
The latest fundraising numbers mark a major improvement for Oz, who reported raising $3.8 million in the second quarter. It's not clear how much Fetterman raised this quarter, but last quarter his campaign brought in $11 million.
“Our momentum is building every day and we're uniting Republicans, Independents, and Democrats who want to see a change in Washington. We're proud of our success this quarter — and we're just getting started,” said Michael Adams, national finance director for Oz's campaign.
Fetterman has also found himself centered in a series of multiple racially-charged scandals which are also hurting the candidate in the polls.
As recently reported by American Liberty News:
Perhaps most problematic for the Democratic nominee is his tenure on the state's Board of Pardons. Now, resurfaced video footage shows Fetterman, following one of his successful clemency campaigns, celebrating the release of Charles “Zeke” Goldblum.
Goldblum received a life sentence for stabbing George Wilhelm 26 times with garden shears in a Pittsburgh parking garage in an insurance fraud cover-up. The law inexorably caught up to Goldblum after he attempted to hire an undercover cop to murder his accomplice, Clarence Miller, who fingered Goldblum for Wilhelm's death.
In the video, Fetterman said he was “happy” Goldblum would be “going home to his family.”
