New Hampshire Republican Gov. Chris Sununu responded to former President Donald Trump's recent comments in which the GOP front-runner lashed out following a recent poll that showed Nikki Haley within striking distance in the New Hampshire primary.
Trump began with an opening salvo on his social media platform:
“FAKE NEW HAMPSHIRE POLL WAS RELEASED ON BIRDBRAIN. JUST ANOTHER SCAM! RATINGS CHALLENGED FOXNEWS WILL PLAY IT TO THE HILT. SUNUNU NOW ONE OF THE LEAST POPULAR GOVERNORS IN U.S. REAL POLL TO FOLLOW,” Trump wrote in all-caps.
A recent poll conducted by the American Research Group showed that Nikki Haley at 29% support among New Hampshire voters, whereas Donald Trump had 33%. The surge in Haley's candidacy may or may not be linked to Sununu's endorsement of her.
Trump, on the other hand, is calling Sununu a RINO for not endorsing him, claiming that he is “one of the least popular governors” in the country. However, the latest University of New Hampshire poll showed that 63% of New Hampshire residents approved of his job in August.
Sununu didn't waste time crafting a long-winded retaliatory post to Trump.
“One of us has never lost an election,” Sununu posted on X/Twitter.
“The other currently polls at 40% in NH and apparently doesn't know how to turn his caps lock off,” he added, followed by the hashtag #WhyAreYouSoObsessedWithMe.
