Another poll has come out that corroborates The New York Times' findings that former President Donald Trump has an undisputed lead over President Joe Biden.
According to the latest poll by CBS News, Trump leads Biden by 4 percentage points, 52-48. The result falls outside the survey's 3.5% margin of error. The Times, released the day before, gave Trump a 5 point lead over Biden:
As Super Tuesday makes an historic rematch all but official, voters are comparing not just two presidents, but two presidencies.
And right now former President Donald Trump emerges from that comparison as the frontrunner. He leads President Biden by four points nationally, his largest lead to date. Here's why:
Voters recall the economy under Trump more fondly than they rate the economy now.
While neither gets great marks, voters today look back on Trump's presidency with relatively better retrospective ratings than they'd rate Joe Biden's presidency so far.
Diving into the results, it's clear that most registered voters believe Biden's policies will lead to higher prices, while a plurality believes Trump's policy prescriptions will lead to lower prices.
According to the outlet, some of Biden's polling deficit can be traced to the Democratic base being relatively critical of him.
A majority of registered voters disagree with the decision to overture Roe, but Trump receives comparatively little blame for the decision.
Of note, 86% of Americans think IVF should be legal.
Trump's greatest advantage comes from his stance on immigration and border control.
