ANALYSIS – China and the Democrats. Yes. Yet another prominent Democrat politician is now implicated in having ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). And it isn’t an isolated incident. It is part of a dangerous pattern.

Reinforcing the idea that China is deliberately targeting local and state Democrats for grooming and influence, Linda Sun, who worked for Gov. Kathy Hochul and then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was accused of being an undeclared agent for the Chinese regime while working for the two big name Democrat politicians.
Sun, 41, and her husband, Chris Hu, 40, were arrested on Tuesday morning at their palatial home on Long Island. (RELATED: Prominent Dem Charged As Communist Foreign Agent)
The Epoch Times reported: “Sun was also charged with visa fraud, alien smuggling, and conspiracy to commit money laundering, while Hu was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, bank fraud, and misuse of means of identification.”
The outlet added:
“As alleged, while appearing to serve the people of New York as Deputy Chief of Staff within the New York State Executive Chamber, the defendant and her husband actually worked to further the interests of the Chinese government and the CCP,” U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace said.
Peace added: “The illicit scheme enriched the defendant’s family to the tune of millions of dollars.” This, through the China-based business activities of her husband.
And what did this Chinese spy duo do for the money?
The Epoch Times continues:
The activities include blocking representatives of the Taiwanese government from having access to the New York governor’s office; changing the politicians’ messaging regarding issues of importance to China and the CCP; obtaining the governors’ official proclamations for Beijing’s representatives without proper authorization; attempting to facilitate a trip to China by Politician-2; and arranging meetings for visiting delegations from the Chinese regime with New York state government officials, the document said.
She was also accused of providing unauthorized invitation letters from the office of the New York governor, which constituted false statements made in connection with immigration documents, to allow Chinese officials to enter the United States illegally and meet with U.S. government officials.
In a quick response, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) is calling for an investigation into the Hochul administration’s hiring of a Communist Chinese spy. In an online statement, she said:
Failed Far Left Democrat Kathy Hochul allowed Communist Chinese spy Linda Sun unfettered access to the highest levels of New York State government. From allowing Chinese police stations, to maintaining a sister city partnership between NYC and Beijing, this is another example of New York Democrats facilitating the influence campaign of Communist China. I am calling for a complete investigation into Kathy Hochul and her administration so that hardworking New York taxpayers receive the transparency we deserve.
This follows another investigation, launched earlier by the GOP-led House Oversight Committee into Governor Walz’s extensive engagement with China and CCP entities. In an Aug 16 press release, the committee stated:
In a letter to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray, Chairman Comer is requesting information, documents, and communications related to the CCP-connected entities and officials Governor Walz has engaged and partnered with, as well as any warnings or advice the FBI may have given to Governor Walz about U.S. political figures being targeted by or recruited for CCP influence operations.
“The CCP has sought to destroy the United States through coordinated influence and infiltration campaigns that target every aspect of American life, including our own elected officials. Americans should be deeply concerned that Governor Walz, Kamala Harris’s vice-presidential running mate, has a longstanding and cozy relationship with China.
Mr. Walz has visited China dozens of times, served as a fellow at a Chinese institution that maintains a devotion to the CCP, and spoke alongside the President of a Chinese organization the State Department exposed as a CCP effort to influence and co-opt local leaders. FBI briefers recently informed the Committee that the Bureau’s Foreign Influence Task Force investigates CCP activity that is similar to China’s engagement with Governor Walz.
The American people deserve to fully understand how deep Governor Walz’s relationship with China goes,” said Chairman James Comer.
