PAUL'S DAILY BRIEF (PDB) Tuesday – Would-be Trump assassin wrote a book urging Iran to assassinate the ex-president. But Democrats insist Trump rhetoric is the cause.
Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, who tried but failed to kill Trump on his golf course in Palm Beach, portrayed himself online as a man who built housing for the homeless in Hawaii, and to recruit fighters for Ukraine to defend itself against Russia.
However, he also described his deep disdain and hatred for Donald Trump – even urging Iran to kill him.
Routh apologized to Iranians and said he blamed himself for having voted for Trump in 2016 in “Ukraine's Unwinnable War,” a rambling account of his views on foreign affairs.
“I must take part of the blame for the retarded child that we elected for our next president that ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake, and Iran I apologize,” Routh writes in last year's self-published book.
“You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgment and the dismantling of the [nuclear] deal. No one here in the US seems to have the balls to put natural selection to work or even unnatural selection,” he added.
His book, which is available on Amazon and was edited by Kathleen Shaffer, 61, a manager at an Old Navy store in Hawaii.
