Congress is mounting its strongest challenge yet to President Trump’s Iran War, federal prosecutors have unveiled a sanctions-evasion case tied to Iran’s nuclear program, and investigators in Washington, D.C., are digging deeper into allegations that police officials manipulated crime statistics.
The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve a war powers resolution to limit unauthorized American military involvement in Iran.
Sponsored by Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York, the measure would require the White House.
Thank former President Donald Trump for the current conservative majority on the Supreme Court, but don’t blame him for the infighting.
In June, the court will make its final vote on a landmark decision that has the potential to overturn Roe v. Wade and send abortion back to the states. To be clear, the decision will not change current state laws regarding abortion, but it will send the right to abortion, or the lack thereof, back to the states. This will create 50 new legal battles for a truly post-Roe America, where children have a right to life. (RELATED: It’s the End of the World as We Know It)
Last week, a draft opinion was leaked from the court to influence the justices to change their ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. While Justice Samuel Alito authored the draft, it was labeled an “Opinion of the Court.”
“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. … We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
The opinion is not final, but it provoked millions of Americans who identify as pro-choice.
Protestors took to the streets the night of the breach and even organized outside the conservative justices’ homes, including Alito, Roberts, Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett.

The intimidation tactics are intended to sway the court’s opinion, in an unprecedented attempt to hijack the court’s decision before the final vote. (RELATED: Justice Alito and Family Moved to Secret Location)
It should be noted, that it is against federal law to protest outside of private residences even if peaceful. Section 1507 of Title 18 of the U.S. Code states it is unlawful to demonstrate by a “residence occupied or used by [a] judge, juror, witness, or court officer” with the purpose of swaying “the discharge of his duty.”
Despite the pro-abortion movement’s attempts to influence the Court, emerging reports suggest the conservative justices will hold the line until the final June decision.
A person close to the most conservative members of the court said Roberts told his fellow jurists in a private conference in early December that he planned to uphold the state law and write an opinion that left Roe and Casey in place for now.
But the other conservatives were more interested in an opinion that overturned the precedents, the person said. A spokeswoman for the court declined to comment, and messages extended to justices were unreturned.
Political analysts suggest this is why Justice Alito authored the draft since Justice Roberts decides who writes it as he is the current chief justice.
Roberts has a history of leaning liberal, notably in cases where he thinks the integrity of the Court is being threatened. For instance, regarding the Dobbs case, wherein he suggested upholding Roe while removing the established point of viability.
If the court maintains its opinion, the Dobbs case will overturn Roe v. Wade, sending the abortion debate back to the states and off the national stage. The decision will also disrupt cases based on the precedent of Roe, including Lawrence v. Texas, which legalized sodomy, and Obergefell v. Hodges, the case for same-sex marriage.
