Beloved nicotine pouch brand popularized by the likes of Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan, primarily used by white men — especially of the working class — have made the decision to begin prioritizing “woke” policies like Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and mandated gender quotas.
Zyn is a subsidiary of Phillip Morris, which has publicly declared its newfound commitment to left-wing social posturing.
The Daily Caller reports:
Phillip Morris recently came under scrutiny from advocacy group Consumers’ Research, which issued a “Woke Alert” for the company. The tobacco giant is “fully woke, prioritizing DEI and gender ideology initiatives above all else,” reads the report, which documents a veritable buffet of lefty nonsense.
Chief Diversity Officer Mimi Kurniawan said, “We are currently in the middle of this process, rolling out initiatives to help establish DEI across our organization—rather than just in pockets—so that it can inform every aspect of our activities, from the marketplace, to the communities in which we operate, and outwards to society at large,” she continued.
Many found the decision difficult to rationalize, as the company had no reason to believe that a pivot towards “social justice” would be well received based on other companies that had done the same, recent trends or their customer base.
The Daily Caller continues:
Consumers spoke with their wallets after brands like Target and Bud Light foolishly ventured into the culture wars. Plus, with many major companies tightening their belts recently, DEI has found itself on the chopping block. It’s no longer good business to have a workforce preach about faddish terms like “structures of oppression” and “abolishing whiteness.” Yet Phillip Morris seems to be ignoring every rational market signal to pursue its own dastardly agenda.
In response to Phillip Morris’s shift, long-time Zyn-thusiast Tucker Carlson has ditched the brand, deciding to release his own, offering an alternative that conservatives can purchase without betraying their values.
Carlson told Old Row on Tuesday that he is launching his own nicotine pouch to compete with Zyn, a popular product owned by tobacco giant Phillip Morris International. A longtime connoisseur of the lower decky Zynachino, Carlson said he’s ditching the pouch for good due to the $18,200 that Philip Morris owners, employees, etc., have donated to Kamala Harris this election cycle.
Harris’s running mate imposed a staggering 95% tax on the nicotine pouches in Minnesota, making their donation all the more confusing.
