Democratic presidential candidate has agreed to do a Fox News interview with chief political anchor Bret Baier, not only continuing her media blitz after months of avoiding the media, but taking her first interview of the election cycle with a network that is less than friendly to her campaign.
Prior to this interview, she’s exclusively booked appearances with outlets that have a record of giving her overwhelmingly positive coverage. In a surprise to many viewers expecting softballs from CBS, Bill Whitaker grilled the vice president in her ’60 Minutes’ interview, who challenged her and pressed her consistently, although the network did come under scrutiny for uploading a different version of the interview to their YouTube channel, where Harris’s answers were more coherent and flattering to the campaign.
Fox News reports:
It will be Harris’ first formal interview ever on Fox News. It will air on the October 16 edition of Baier’s “Special Report” at 6 p.m. ET. Baier will anchor “Special Report” from the battleground state of Pennsylvania that evening.
This will likely be a widely watched interview, as Special Report consistently brings in high viewership, and it being the first interview she’ll do with the network known for a more favorable coverage of right of center politicians.
“Special Report” is regularly among the most-watched programs in cable news, and the popular Common Ground segment featuring political leaders from across the aisle discussing the issues of the day with the goal of finding middle ground has been a hit this election cycle.
Harris’ first interview with Fox News comes as she’s stepped up her media appearances, albeit with mostly friendly outlets. While she sat for an interview with “60 Minutes” that has been criticized after the network aired two different answers to the same question about Israel, she followed up with friendly interviews with ABC’s “The View,” Stephen Colbert and Howard Stern last week.
Harris has consistently struggled in interviews, even with interviewers that have openly praised her and advocated on her behalf, and the Harris campaign is likely feeling the pressure as their poll numbers suffer and they hemorrhage critical support from male voters and minorities.
Fox News continues:
Baier co-led Fox News Channel’s special Democracy 2024 coverage of the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention, in addition to multiple political events which have consistently ranked No. 1 in all of television, outpacing cable news and broadcast coverage.

Why Bret Baier? There are plenty of great Fox Host’s who could do a better and less biased interview. Baier is less than happy with Trump and more likely to offer more “Soft-Ball” questions. We will see whether he holds thw witch’s feet to the fire.
He is a pompous blowhard like cavuto!
K. harris had Aphaia behavior when she answered a question with Winfrey and it has been shown in previous interviews! Does that mean anything?
Well, I believe Brett tends to be fair. I also believe that while he seems to issues with Trump,, I don’t believe he would try to placoat or sugar-coat misinformation when he hears it. I guess we shall see.
This really isn’t the big deal your making it out to be…. im sure the contract/agreement between the two is lengthy and favorable towards kamala. Fox has plenty of closet Dem sympathizers. I havevseen several pro Democrat, “approved by” kamala campaign adds , most smearing Trump. They won’t ask hard questions, we will get the same repeated responses… same ole talking point. There will be nothing new here except people will now have a disappointment and loss ofvtrust with Fox. They should of turned her down, why chance putting her in front of the largest number of trump supporters possible… I promise, some if them will go to the dark side. ##Trump2024
I will wait and see how Bret Baier does. In my opinion he leans a little to the left. He should not allow Harris to ramble on with her usual nonsensical word salad response, that she usually gives,
Baier has his head so far up Lackey Murdoch’s ass he hasn’t seen daylight for months. He is the slimy snake that Trump needs to beware of. Just like Sessions, Barr and Kelly who betrayed him Trump should stay miles away from Baier. He will carry Harris thru the interview, edit it favorably for her and publicize she wanted another debate. Trump thinks Baier is a friend but he isn’t. He will betray Trumps trust.
Pardon the cynic in me BUT….I don’t trust Bret Baier!
I don’t trust Baier or Mccallum.. Fox has become a stealth liberal network. They’ve gotten good at hiding it.
Brett should ask who’s she Kamala ? When she got elected as attorney general and senator in California she said she is first INDIAN women to get elected in those positions in the USA ! Know she is BLACK ???
Exactly right my friend
Brett will be fair and will push back when she tries to give canned answers. Trump/Vance supporters complain when she only does “liberal “ interviews and then complain when she does. If she is as bad as I believe she is, I trust Brett will expose her for what she is – an extreme left leaning liberal who’s policies are severely damaging our economy, our national identity and our future. I pray he pins her down on her disastrous energy policies, disastrous open border policies, her disastrous criminal reform policies, her disastrous inflation causing economic policies and I could go on and on – please expose her and pray people will wake up before it’s too late to save the country
I vividly remember back in 2016 when Megyn Kelly and sidekicks Bret Baier and Chris Wallace did a “driveby shooting” of Donald Trump. But Trump was prepared for them and did an excellent job thwarting their antics at cutting him off at the ankles.
