After a particularly rough week for the Harris campaign, Trump has taken a lead in every swing state, as well as nationally.
The Daily Caller reports:
Trump has a 0.8 point lead pulling 48.3% support across seven key battleground states compared to Harris at 47.5%, according to the polling averages. The Republican presidential nominee is ahead of Harris in the states of Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Nevada.
Trump is ahead of Harris nationally in the presidential race by two points at 50% to Harris’ 48%, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday. Many offshore betters are also predicting that Trump will win the election, according to USA Today.
Political commentators speculate that this is at least partially in response to Harris’s first interview on Fox News and the most watched of the election cycle, with a staggering 7 million viewers reported — not including those who watched it on X, YouTube or other social media platforms.
It was the vice president’s first media appearance in which the audience anticipated a series of serious, substantive inquiries on her record, her current policies, and the disparities between them, as she’d avoided the press for weeks on end after replacing Biden on the Democratic ticket, and had chosen friendly networks and lighthearted talk shows in the few that she’d agreed to.
While liberal media insisted she performed well in her Fox News interview, and that she’d “held her ground” and “exhibited strength,” maligning Bret Baier as a partisan hack (despite him interviewing former President Trump in a similar manner), voters didn’t seem to agree. Following the combative interview, polls shifted significantly in Trump’s favor.
It also didn’t seem to help that Harris opted out of the famous Al Smith dinner benefitting Catholic charities that almost every presidential candidate has participated in for over 50 years. Even his staunchest critics were forced to admit that his knock out performance, with most of his jokes received by raucous and thunderous laughter, and Harris’s choice not to attend and send a video instead only seemed to help him.
Republican National Committee spokesperson Anna Kelly said in a statement shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation, “Even after the Democrats have spent over $200 million trying to redefine Kamala Harris, President Trump is winning or tied in every battleground because his message is resonating with voters across the country. Try as she might, Harris can’t change her record…hardworking families are struggling to buy basic groceries, diapers, and baby formula for their children. As CNN reported, for the first time since 1984, more Americans now identify as Republicans because Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party’s dangerously liberal policies have failed the hardworking men and women of America.”
