New polling from Fox News indicates a significant shift in American public opinion regarding immigration policy, just three weeks before the 2024 elections. According to the poll, two-thirds of voters now support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, a substantial 15-point increase since 2015. This change is most pronounced among nonwhite voters, where support has grown by 24 points over the same period.
The survey also shows that support for mass deportations has increased across various demographics. Urban voters have seen a 19-point rise in support since 2015, while support among men has climbed by 16 points and among Democrats, it has increased by 8 points.
At the same time, there is a decline in support for allowing illegal immigrants with jobs to stay in the country and apply for legal status. Currently, 58% of voters back this option, a decrease of 4 points from last year and down 10 points compared to 2015.

As Fox News reports, these shifts come as immigration remains a central issue in the upcoming elections, shaping the rhetoric and policy positions of both major party candidates:
At rallies across the country, former President Donald Trump has pledged to enact mass deportations of illegal immigrants, something he vowed to do during his first term but never fully realized.

While support for allowing those with jobs to stay and apply for legal status is down among most demographics, Republicans are the driving force behind the dip – down 28 points from a decade ago. Democrats are the opposite; they are more likely to favor allowing them to stay by 4 points.
Immigration has been one of three top issues this election cycle, along with abortion and the economy (the top issue). The new Fox News survey is no different: 40% put the economy at number one, followed by 17% for immigration, and 15% for abortion. No other issue reaches double digits.
When asked to name the single most important issue or factor motivating them to vote, Trump supporters cite immigration (17%) and the economy (18%) as top motivators. For Vice President Harris supporters, it’s dislike of Trump (17%), followed by abortion and protecting democracy (14% each) motivating them vote. Just 1% of Harris supporters cite immigration.
According to Fox’s poll, Trump is now seen as better equipped to handle immigration by a 15-point margin, an increase from the 10-point advantage recorded by the network in September.

Hopefully, Trump is elected in November, but we all know the Democrats will be burning cities in protest. Moreover, you can bet they will be out in groves blocking the deportation of the illegal immigrants, and more cities will burn. They, (Democrats) are simply a virus that will not go away.
