Recent polling data reveals a significant shift in voter dynamics in Pennsylvania, showing that former President Donald Trump has doubled his advantage over Harris among male voters compared to less than a month ago. This trend could have substantial implications as the state prepares for the rapidly approaching election, particularly in light of its status as a crucial battleground.

Trump leads with men in Pennsylvania by a staggering 20 points against Vice President Kamala Harris, compared to his 11-point lead in an Oct. 9 poll, according to Quinnipiac’s latest survey conducted from Oct. 24 to Oct. 28. While Trump has dominated the demographic overall, the new data suggests the Harris campaign’s push to win over men has not been effective.
Trump’s messaging, which emphasizes job growth, energy independence, and a tough stance on crime, appears to be striking a chord with this demographic. Many men in Pennsylvania are responding positively to his promises of economic revival and a return to policies they believe foster a better quality of life.
In contrast, Harris’s strategy has relied heavily on gimmicks and celebrity endorsements that don’t seem to be moving the needle substantially — especially among the demographics she most desperately needs to gain ground with.
A pro-Harris ad targeting men went viral last month, featuring actors (later revealed to be progressive activists) posing as mechanics, gym bros, and farmers, rattling off their masculine “credentials” juxtaposed with their support of Kamala Harris and “women’s rights.”
The ad went viral for all the wrong reasons, drawing the ire of Democrats and Republicans alike.
Former Biden White House director of message planning Meghan Hays said of the ad, “I know it’s my party, but it just comes across as condescending, and that ad seemed like a joke to me. The message is just so condescending, and I think that the authenticity point is a really good one, that if Democrats really want to go after men, they need to figure out a better way to talk to them, and they need to figure out a better way that’s more genuine to who they are in their message.”

Nationwide, men still favor Trump over Harris by six points, according to a CNN poll conducted from Oct. 20 to Oct. 23. The race remains deadlocked overall with a tie at 48%, according to a TIPP Insights poll conducted from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30.
The Trump campaign has made efforts to reach out to young men, such as going on podcasts like “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the “Full Send Podcast” and “This Past Weekend” with Theo Von. Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance most recently talked for three hours with Rogan on his podcast aired Thursday.
In contrast, the Harris campaign has overwhelmingly avoided podcasts with massive male audiences like Dave Ramsey and Joe Rogan. Though Joe Rogan has been in continued negotiations with the Harris campaign, nothing has come to fruition, with Rogan citing the campaign’s demands for him to travel to D.C. and a one hour limit, despite his studio offering to accommodate them while they were in Texas and his podcast having an established norm of three hour unscripted episodes.
In addition to lagging behind with men as a whole, she’s doing particularly poorly among black men, and trotted out Obama to lecture them on their lack of support.

Former President Barack Obama suggested that some black, male voters may be hesitant to vote for Harris because she is a woman during a Thursday campaign stop in Pennsylvania. Harris is currently leading among young black men by a historically low 41%, dropping significantly from President Joe Biden’s 53% in 2020 and Obama’s 81% in 2012, CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said on Monday.
Please explain. If Trump increased his margin of Pennsylvania men from 11% to 20% and Harris’ efforts aren’t working, why are the pollsters still reporting PA is still essentially tied (within the margin of error)?
