The majority of the hosts on The View appeared in black on Wednesday show, a subtle yet unmistakable nod to the apparent end of Vice President Kamala Harris’ political ambitions. The dramatic fashion choice didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, who interpreted the gesture as a symbolic funeral for Harris’ career following a turbulent term as Vice President and the decisive reelection of President Donald Trump.
Sunny Hostin Lashes Out
In an eye-opening segment, progressive co-host Sunny Hostin broke into tears, expressing dismay over Trump’s victory. She claimed Americans should have known better than to reelect Trump, while lamenting that the nation had failed to support Harris and her vision.
Hostin’s frustration quickly turned harsh as she tried to explain Harris’ defeat from her vantage point in Manhattan. She argued that Harris’ loss was not due to her policy alignment with Biden or a campaign that people found unrelatable. Instead, she claimed it was a result of “cultural resentment” aimed at Harris’ background as a “mixed-race woman married to a Jewish man.”

Accusations Fly: Hostin Lectures Voters
Perhaps the most controversial part of Hostin’s comments came as she criticized specific voter demographics. She claimed that “uneducated white women” voted against their own interests in reproductive health. Latino men, she argued, supported a president “who says he will deport a majority of his community.” The sweeping generalizations struck many as elitist, prompting backlash across social media.

The Hollywood Reporter provides additional details on Hostin’s on-air existential crisis, where she expressed unfounded concerns regarding internment camps:
While acknowledging that none of the show’s five hosts wanted Trump to win, they each had a unique take on the news.
The strongest reaction came from Sunny Hostin: “I’m profoundly disturbed. In 2016, we didn’t know what we would get from a Trump administration, but we know now, and we now he will have almost unfettered power. I don’t worry about myself, actually. I worry about the working class. I worry about my mother, a retired teacher. I worry about our elderly and their social security and their medicare. I worry about my children’s future, especially my daughter, who now has less rights than I have. And I remember my father telling me many, many years ago that I was the first person in his family to enjoy full civil rights. Now I have less civil rights than I had when he told me that. So again, I’m profoundly disturbed that the 14th Amendment of the Constitution did not prevent someone who participated in an insurrection from becoming president of the United States. … As a woman of color, I was so hopeful that a mixed race woman married to a Jewish guy could be elected president of this country. And I think that [the outcome] had nothing to do with policy. I think this was a referendum of cultural resentment in this country.”
While the most sanguine response came from Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served in Trump’s communication’s office during his first term: “Is it the outcome I wanted? No, but tens of millions of Americans — our friends, our neighbors, our family members — voted for Donald Trump. They are good, decent people who are patriots and love this country, and I can’t speak to what drove them to this, but I think it is a moment for us to listen to each other … We need to bring down the temperature, the name calling, the demonizing … and I think there are some lessons from it. I think we forget about rural America. I think the working class feels left behind. They feel like the powerful, the elite, only care about them and their power. And [Trump] spoke to them. We may not have liked his words, but they turned out for him. I mean, the map was beyond [Ronald] Reagan. We need to start listening more about the concerns of everyday Americans. … I have faith that some good, decent people are going to work for him.”
Whoopi Goldberg reacted to Griffin’s comment, by noting: “You can always say, ‘Oh, [Harris] should have done this.’ She was everywhere, she talked to everybody — and people didn’t come out. I don’t know why, and it doesn’t even matter … it’s hard for some of us to hear that rhetoric after 50 years. You know, after 70 years, to hear that rhetoric coming back, to hear things that came out of people’s mouths that we all decided as a public group that we weren’t going to talk to each other that way. I feel okay when I hear somebody talking down to somebody else, I’m all right with that. What I’m not all right with is trying to further wreck the country.”
Joy Behar’s Surprising Take: A Surprising Moment of Restraint
In a stark contrast to Hostin, Joy Behar offered a perspective that recognized the voice of the people. “The system worked,” she began, acknowledging her disappointment with the election results but affirming her faith in American democracy. “We live in a democracy. People spoke. This is what people wanted. I vehemently disagree with the decision Americans made, but I feel very, very hopeful that we have a democratic system in this country. We should value it.”

Do you think yesterday marked the end of Kamala Harris’s political career? Or is a comeback, like those of Richard Nixon and Donald Trump, possible? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

“Maybe” just maybe the continued harping from the harpies and denigrating of literally millions of voters by our ‘betters’ (aka elitists) turned off a massive number of voters to the empty promises of the ‘d’ party and likely drove many of them to the DJT camp. NOBODY likes hearing the ongoing drumbeat of how ‘bad’ they are if they don’t embrace a certain party line – NOBODY.
What this shows , as has been shown repeatedly, is that the most uneducated woman host the View, and followed by other naive and uneducated women who watch it.
I just HAD to watch this show today…first time in years…LOVED IT!!!
They all should go and hide, ugly smear spreading wannabe humans
This reply is response to the View’s take on the loss of K Harris……….the best candidate won, so get over!! You are all the most critical group of people I’ve ever heard and I’m so glad I made the choice not to view your program ever again. You are all so bias and racial, it’s sickening. You and this show is what is wrong with this country’s division and your hatred talk and attitude needs to stop! God once again please bless America and forgive us the people who were in office this past almost 4 years.
Call the WAH-mbulance. WAH WAH. Speaking of uneducated women, look at your panel of “experts”. I know you’re not stupid, but book smart doesn’t necessarily transfer to common sense and street smart. But, I honestly never expected to say this, but I never thought I would hear Behar say anything that made sense. That may have been a short quote, but still.
I think she failed because she chickened out. If she really felt like she said, then she should have been more vocal on the pitiable things that happened over the last 4 years. Shutting off the oil flow, giving FEMA cash as a handout to illegal aliens with little left to deal with the national crisis of 2 hurricanes was a travesty, gross and major misuse of government funds. I could continue with nearly everything wrong with our country but it would take way too much space to list her failures.
To ALL the ladies of THE VIEW -I am a retired PEDIATRICIAN and of Puerto Rican descent .I am one of those you 5 refered to as NAZI lover , Anti feminist ,RACIST educated woman AND TRUMP supporter .In last weeks also called GARBAGE TRUMP supporter .
First as a christian and second as a pediartrician I believe that the CONSTITUTION guarantees life but no abortion(specially after 15 weeks to term or post term >–really infanticide .I lived as a pediatrician for 35 yrs and saw many young girls and adolescents who after having had abortions ordered and approved by parents or grandparents (guardians ) live afterwards with shame and regret ;turning to drugs or alchohol or future promiscuity relationships because they did not think it necessary to go to LIVELONG counselling post abortions.I also saw many young women who took abortion PILLS plan A and B and later aborted at homes alone without seeking ANY medical care and later had dificulty in conceiving ANY child or had PREMAture babies or babies with congenital or chromosomal defects .
I am very happy to have retired before doctors were forced to participate in these abortions AGAINST their own believes or consciences ,like in now near future (IF Harris would have won …….they were planning to mandate {.Because of their anti-democratic believes that they could just MANDATE doctors like that ; just like they(democrats ) mandated vaccines against our will or foods to eat (NO MEATS soon ) or EVEN time when to go to bed (like on election night Harris said to go to sleep at 10:30 pm and WAIT 2-4 days for the results like they did in 2020? WHO acted more like a REAL dictator and undemocratic actions ?
I think in “the VIEW “they just present the views they liked and said everything else was DISINFORMATION —-Every opinion in a different side was “totally and irrevocably misinformation .YOU all did a diservice to 50% of the women population in this great “white ,red and blue “USA “-quoting Bernie Moreno .Instead of continuing like that I think you must change or risk losing the already LOW NUMBERS that you have ,better yet if YOU all LEAVE the USA like you said before the elections . I for one will NOT miss you .I do not watch you since it would be a waste a SECOND of my POSITIVE mood .
Respectfully ,
Alida Asencio
Sonny Hostin is a racist. She’s been expressing herslef that way for a while now.
Those people on the View seem to be very disoriented and confused. We voted for American values and “Women’s rights”!! It is the liberals who are attacking women’s rights.
Harris is absolutely done. She cannot articulate policy.
Thank you Joy for tempering down hate speech. We need to start NOW to be united, to be civil and realize that everyone has his/her own opinion. If you can be constructive using facts and ideas fine – that is what freedom of speech is about. Thank you Alyssa for your statement “I think it is a moment for us to listen to each other … We need to bring down the temperature, the name calling, the demonizing … and I think there are some lessons from it. I think we forget about rural America. I think the working class feels left behind. They feel like the powerful, the elite, only care about them and their power. And [Trump] spoke to them. We need to start listening more about the concerns of everyday Americans. … I have faith that some good, decent people are going to work for him.” Thank you.
Kamala has no vision. These harpies on the View are brainless.
I voted for Mr. Trump because he correctly identified the cause of the problems in our country as open borders. And Ms. Harris, during one of her last interviews, was asked if there was anything she’d do differently from the last four years. And she answered something like she cannot think of one thing!!! What an arrogant answer!!! She’s also a socialist, pro-Marxist, and pro-Leninist which is an impossible philosophy to exist with our constitution. I’m not wild about Mr. Trump’s personality, but you know where he stands. And he is a capitalist which can co-exist with our constitution.
Just listen to her – she wants a president based solely on gender and color of skin. Then she accuses those that have other requirements as racist. Question: who is the racist? (Answer is to easy so no help from me.)
On r the CONTRARY, it was BECAUSE of “EDUCATED WOMEN'” that Trump regained the White House.
