In the lead-up to his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly demanded the resignation letters of several key officials to be submitted by noon on that day. This move is part of his strategy to swiftly implement his administration’s policies and ensure alignment with his agenda. The targeted officials include:
Trump has repeatedly condemned the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, calling it a “disaster” and expressing his intention to seek the resignations of senior military officials involved in the operation. The withdrawal left 13 U.S. service members dead, $7 billion in military equipment behind and thousands of Afghan allies to their fate under Taliban rule.

Fox News has more on Trump’s day one pink slip promise, first announced in August:
“The voters are going to fire Kamala and Joe on Nov. 5, we hope, and when I take office I will ask for the resignation of every single official. We’ll get the resignations of every single senior official who touched the Afghanistan calamity to be on my desk at noon on Inauguration Day,” Trump said, speaking to a crowd at the National Guard Association in Detroit.
“You know, you have to fire people,” Trump said. “We never fire anybody. You got to fire them, like on ‘The Apprentice.’ You’re fired. You did a lousy job,” he continued, paying homage to his reality TV series.
“You did a terrible, terrible disservice to our country. You get fired when that happens. Nobody got fired,” Trump said of the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal. “Nobody ever gets fired in this administration. It’s amazing, all the bad things that have happened. Nobody ever gets fired.”

Roughly four months before the tragic terror attack, Vice President Kamala Harris talked about her role during a CNN interview in which she confirmed she was the last person in the room before Biden made the deadly decision to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. That video is making the rounds on social media three years later.
Trump’s demand for resignations is reminiscent of actions taken by his previous administration to ensure a united front upon taking office. In 2017, then-President-elect Trump requested the resignations of all Obama-appointed ambassadors, effective January 20, to facilitate a smooth transition.

I have been in administration for many years and when a change in admin takes place this is the best and easiest way to begin with new policies.

Good riddance.
Then it is time to look at every Federal government organization and start getting rid of the deadwood!! The Federal government is the most inefficient organization on earth and it is time for a business person to look at each department with an eye to making them more efficient. It is so hard to get rid of bad employees that the often get shuffled off to an office “out of site, out of mind”. Also it is not in a supervisors best interest to reduce staff, find ways to save money or do a job more efficiently. You grade level is really based upon things like how many people do you supervise, how much money do you oversee, etc. so cutting staff or doing a job cheaper is not in the supervisors best interest.
Dead wood and political hacks. Neither do their jobs and only screw things up for others. Like in the FAA So Region, the head of Flight Standards General William Berry, got his star from his family member Strong Thurmond. He discriminated against some who were not military helicopter people, and put underqualified helicopter people in office to replace ones he didn’t like. In some cases, those being replaced were their trainers in new category aircraft. Discrimination was bad in the FAA flight standards and they broke then own rules and agreements willy nilly. Yet you make an error if cost you your carrer, was backballed, and their violated the law when people called to ask about the applicant. It was a case of the old bubba system in place.
Since an Ambassador is personally representing the President of the United States every Ambassador, by State Department protocol, tenders his or her resignation upon a new President taking office, thus allowing the new President the opportunity to either re-apoint any of them, or replace them.
Trump has every right to clean house!!! Dems have shown they just want America on her knees. Ridiculous. Can’t wait till he takes over and undo all that stupid shit this administration has done.

To leave old leaders who failed their duties in position will only result in more failures. It would be better with nobody in position rather than have a negative person in place. Trump should have his people up and running, waiting at the doors for the start whistle to go off, then they immediately go in and start house cleaning down through the lower levels and put people in who will do the jobs correctly and efficently.

It’s about time, Trump needs to clean house of the wimpy generals and admirals who are yes men to Biden and left Afghanistan with their tails tucked between their legs, making the US look weak and obviously the doors wide open for Russia to attack the Ukraine which it did. The American people voted overwhelmingly to support Trump and his agenda. New conservative military leadership will be necessary for us to prepare for any potential attacks on Taiwan will be needed to ensure China does not succeed in their threats to take it over.
