President-elect Donald Trump reportedly engaged in a private phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging restraint in the ongoing war in Ukraine and expressing a desire to facilitate peace across Europe. According to sources cited by The Washington Post, Trump emphasized the importance of avoiding further escalation and voiced his commitment to achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the near future.
Key Points Discussed
-Peace and Stability: Trump’s remarks to Putin centered on stabilizing the European continent, hinting at potential diplomatic measures to resolve the conflict.
-Follow-up Conversations: Trump expressed interest in future discussions with Putin, hinting at efforts toward “the resolution of Ukraine’s war soon.”
-Potential Concessions: During the call, Trump reportedly suggested a peace plan that could involve territorial adjustments. Such a proposal might aim to achieve peace but raises questions about possible concessions.
Diplomatic Bypass
The call reportedly took place without the involvement of the U.S. State Department, a move that aligns with Trump’s prior criticisms of the agency, particularly regarding past information leaks. Trump’s decision to sidestep official channels signals his intent to manage diplomatic outreach independently.
Conversations with Ukraine
In addition to his conversation with Putin, Trump is also reported to have spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The talks come as Ukraine’s government closely monitors Trump’s position on U.S. support for Kyiv, especially regarding potential compromises that may affect Ukraine’s territorial claims.
Reinforcing U.S. Presence in Europe
To underscore his commitment to European peace, Trump reminded Putin of the significant U.S. military presence across the continent. While reiterating his goal for peace, Trump highlighted American military capacity as a stabilizing factor in the region, according to sources familiar with the call.
As Trump explores his role in future peace efforts, these discussions could signal a significant shift in the ongoing Ukraine crisis, potentially reshaping both U.S. foreign policy and the broader geopolitical landscape.

What he needs to tell Putin is to get the H out of Ukraine.
Obviously any resolution to the Ukraine situation is going to involve some compromises. That “war” has been going on long enough and needs to be settled. It is costing the West a lot of money that could be better spent and it is destroying a lot of Ukraine’s infrastructure.
Unlike Biden, Trump goes directly to the head of the conflict Putin. Seems this could be a possible breakthrough with the Ukraine and Russian War. He has not even taken office yet but is on the move to fulfilling promises he has made during his current reelection and becoming our next President of the United States. His being elected could and did see positive movement in the stock market already. The Democrats promised to raise taxes and continue to spend uncontrollable amounts of money in giveaways to buy votes. It didn’t work and they received the biggest shellacking of an election in many, many years. God Bless President Trump and his MAGA movement.
