A caravan of approximately 1,500 migrants has gathered in Tapachula, Mexico, with plans to reach the U.S. border before the presidential transition. The group, comprised mainly of individuals from Central and South America, has stated that their urgency stems from concerns about potential policy changes following Inauguration Day.
Migrants have expressed that they believe crossing the border will be more challenging after President-elect Trump takes office.
“It is going to be more difficult, that’s why we are going in hopes of getting an appointment quicker so we are able to cross before [Trump] takes office,” a Venezuelan migrant told the Associated Press.

The caravan’s formation highlights ongoing challenges in managing migration in the region.
Between January 2021 and January 2024, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported over 7.2 million encounters with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.
In addition to recorded encounters, there were over 1.5 million “gotaways”—individuals who evaded capture by border agents—between fiscal years 2021 and 2023. The Department of Homeland Security acknowledges that the true number of “gotaways” is unknown, as some individuals escape detection entirely.
Approximately 2.3 million migrants encountered at the border were released into the United States.
Authorities in Mexico are monitoring the caravan’s progress, as similar movements in the past have often raised diplomatic and security concerns.

Why only to face prosecution under ICE & USBP
There are so many people crossing the border that simply disappear into the country. There is no real effort to either stop the from crossing the border or rounding them up once they are in the country.
Trump needs to explain to that leftie head of that state that she needs to slow the roll of this caravan, or else.
Well they know that Biden will make no effort to stop them from crossing into the United States ILLEGALLY but Trump will put a stop to that quickly. ICE and USBP cannot stop the flood of individuals crossing the border and once in the U.S. we have no clue where they might be.
Slow them down!!!
