Is this the end of the road for “The View?”
Piers Morgan suggested on Monday that ABC’s “The View” be canceled in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump’s victory.
“I don’t like cancel culture — but given that the hosts of ‘The View’ have, by their own admission, worked so hard to cancel Donald Trump, it’s time they were canceled themselves,” Morgan wrote in an op-ed for The New York Post.
The ABC News show is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin, all of whom cast their votes for Vice President Kamala Harris this year, and who regularly criticize the president-elect. Navarro and Griffin identify as Republicans.
“They all despise the man who is to be their president again, and that tediously myopic, one-sided act just won’t play now that he’s been given such a resounding endorsement from the American people,” Morgan wrote.
Morgan described the co-hosts as “partisan obsessives competing with each other over who detests Trump most.”
“Because ‘The View’ has become a pointless, irrelevant parody of itself that urgently needs to be put out of its — and our — misery,” he added.
Following Trump’s 2024 victory the panel chose to wear all black after Election Day, a subtle yet unmistakable nod to the apparent end of Vice President Kamala Harris‘ political ambitions. The dramatic fashion choice didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, who interpreted the gesture as a symbolic funeral for Harris’ career following a turbulent term as Vice President. Co-host Sunny Hostin broke into tears, expressing dismay over Trump’s victory. She claimed Americans should have known better than to reelect Trump, while lamenting that the nation had failed to support Harris and her vision.
Hostin’s frustration quickly turned harsh as she tried to explain Harris’ defeat from her vantage point in Manhattan. She argued that Harris’ loss was not due to her policy alignment with Biden or a campaign that people found unrelatable. Instead, she claimed it was a result of “cultural resentment” aimed at Harris’ background as a “mixed-race woman married to a Jewish man.”
Several critics have pointed to Hostin’s question to Harris during the show’s interview with the vice president in early October as part of the reason why she lost to Trump. Hostin asked the vice president if there was anything she would have done differently from President Biden in the last four years.
“There’s not a thing that comes to mind,” Harris responded, which allowed her critics to more directly tie her to the unpopular incumbent.
“The View” is such mind-rotting trash. it wouldn’t be missed and its absence might even raise the collective I.Q. a bit.
First of all, Harris never had a “vision.” She is not smart enough. Secondly, the race baiters on The View would do well to understand there is only INE race, the Human Race, different languages, different cultures and different shades of brown from dark to light. If anyone wants to say another person is a different race based on melanin, they are out of their minds. That kind of thinking is what causes division and hatred toward others, and that is a heart condition. It’s a heart without a conscience, without compassion or a love for others. And there is only One Who can fix that heart and it isn’t psychologists or drugs, but none of that is lasting and only brings more problems. Without Christ Jesus, nothing lasts.
The “View” is the most abhorrent show on TV! It’s like watching snakes in a snake pit after a mouse is thrown in. This show should go! Do we really need to hear from high school dropouts and the most biased collection of vipers?
Is MSNBC looking to acquire any of these faces? Oh, wait a moment. MSNBC ratings have fallen too. Maybe Whoopi and Friends could free lance their own show. They can’t very well call it The View since their current network carries the rights, so how about ‘The Review Mirror Show’. That’d fit in with their retro opinions and the mirror in the show title comes from the fact that they’d mostly being watching themselves since there wouldn’t be any viewers.
I’m with Piers, I think The View should be removed and never allowed to broadcast again.
